FSX Can't Find DirectX 9 after Windows reinstall??

Recommended Posts

Reinstalled XP/SP2 (nasty!). After loading, or running, many of my "normal" programs I tried FSX and it said it could not find DirectX9. Downloaded and installed and rebooted but same issue. Tried FS9 and it worked ok. Did tweak to set FSX registry entry but still could not find DirectX9.Avoiding any reinstall is a goal, for obvious reasons. So, any hints on this one?Regards,Dick BoleyA PC, an LCD, speakers, CH yoke

Run DXDIAG in the Run box inside your start menu and see if DX9 is properly installed. Also, instead of reinstalling FSX, try a repair.Jim
