A&O cause stutters

Featured Replies

4.51 b09 Msfs 2020. Stutters start when on approach. When I disconnect then reconnect to simconnect the stutters stop. I've tested for a couple of weekends. Am using stream deck profile with FSW Lear 35a. Also using Fsuipc. But I have disconnect all addons other than a&o with stream deck and tested. Any ideas what may be going or other ways to test? Must be just with my system because I cant find any other case of stutters with a&o.

Probably the StreamDeck profile overtaxing something. I've read about stutters when using the StreamDeck before (not necessarily with AAO, just the device.) Maybe a conflict in the graphics pipeline or a SimConnect flood. Impossible to tell and/or diagnose, it would be pure luck to find anyrthing. Blunt force approach would be to just fly without the StreamDeck or with a different profile (=make a copy of the profile, then remove actions from it piece by piece).

Also, make sure to minimize all non-essential windows all the time, including AAO and the StreamDeck software. AAO has an Auto-Minimize feature.

It could be a placebo though, don't get too hung up on the SD or AAO. In the past, I mostly saw stutters when simobjects were being created or removed from the sim, for example AI aircraft. It could be that you are just seeing your destination airport being populated with AI - and by pausing and restarting AAO you give the sim the time it needs to finish that process, so it runs smoothly afterwards.

Btw. what are you using FSUIPC for? Any chance of interference there? (there is always a chance when using two apps that do essentially the same thing - but there could be something concrete in your case?)

I'll tackle a&o as the only app when I retire and have lots of time. 😆 Thanks for the tips and quick reply. I'll try them all.
