Can't Open User Interface

Featured Replies

"Suddenly" I cannot open the UI. Also, MSFS 2020 doesn't ask to open it either (was set as run as administrator). The program functions fine as used with my stream deck plus but just can't open the UI. Just uninstalled and updated to latest as of Feb 18 2025 and still no joy. Pressing the shortcut created does nothing - other than probably starting the program. It used to open the UI so I could see the settings. But there is no UI appearing. I do see it running in task manager background services.

1. If you've activated "Minimize to system tray", then the only way to get to the GUI is through the AAO icon in the system tray.

2. Is the app window located off screen maybe? If that is the case, you can pull it back, like any other Windows app. Hover the mouse over the icon in the task bar and when the little windows opens right click into that.

3. To reset all AAO screen positions, delete the app settings that Windows creates: ...\AppData\Local\LWR\*

Tried that - no joy. A new app settings directory was added by Windows and the config file looks identical to the previous one. Is there a way to completely remove the app and it's settings and do a fresh install? Or, maybe change the config file in LWR?

What about the system tray setting? I've seen this before, the user forgot that he activated this in AAO, and the only way to the GUI was through the AAO icon in the system tray (the little triangle on the right of the task bar opens the system tray)

Yep - that was it. There was another AAO ICON that got shoved into the hidden box when I added a bunch of shortcuts to the taskbar. Clicking that opened the GUI. Thanks for reminding me - never thought to look there. I was going nuts trying to sort this out!

I love and use this program every day. If there's anyone out there considering whether or not to use this program I hope you're reading this. It's an extremely stable program obviously backed up by stellar support.

Thanks again "Lorby_SI" !

Good.

For the record, the main config file is here (MSFS 2020, other sim variants of AAO are also in that region)

C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\LORBY_SI\LorbyAxisAndOhsMSFS\LorbyAxisAndOhsConfiguration_MSFS.xml

When you delete this, all the minimize, autostart etc. settings are gone - but all the others too, so handle with care.
