Setting for fuel?

Featured Replies

My aircraft always load up with 100% of fuel loaded for each tank (unless the aircraft has a load manager). Is there a setting in the .cfg perhaps that dictates how much fuel is loaded, other than 100% (say, 50%)?Thanks, Bruce.

Bruce,As pilot in command, you decide prior to beginning your flight how much fuel you want onboard your aircraft. That's part of flight planning ... you don't want to carry too much fuel, because that's inefficient, and can also be dangerous in many ways.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/188896.jpgOf course, there's always a balance of efficiency versus flight safety, so leave yourself some escape room. Each aircraft has a different fuel configuration (number of tanks, etc.) Before clicking the "Fly Now" button, click the Fuel and Payload button. This is where you select how much fuel you want to carry, and specify the weight of yourself and any passengers you might be carrying, weight of their luggage, etc. Here's a handy online fuel calculator:http://www.airnav.com/plan/fuelAnd here's an online WikiHow on how to file an FAA-style Flight Plan:http://www.wikihow.com/File-an-FAA-Flight-PlanCheers,

Thanks, yes I know about fuel planning. My question was more regarding is there any other default value for fuel available in FSX other than 100%?Thanks, Bruce.

Bruce, you should just need to edit the default flight:Flight Simulator XFlightsotherFLTSIM.FLTI use Tweakflight but you can do it by hand too by loading it into Notepad.Look for the "Fuel.0" section about 3/4 of the way down and knock yourself out. :)
