ATC voice missing from FSX

Featured Replies

ATC voice is missing. There are only text msgs from ATC on screen and voice is missing. Sometimes when I change ATC person voice comes back for a while and then disapearing. What could is wrong?

Check in the control panel and make sure your audio settings are all correct for the speaker setup you have. Mine wasn't but I didn't notice it until I did the reinstall of FSX. Also check and make sure the file named USEnglishBig.gvp is in the ATC folder which is in the Sound Folder in the FSX root directory. It should be 210,972kb in size. You might also try to repair fSX using the repair function on Disk 1. Hope this helps some,Bill

I'm sure not running out of memory. The problem seems to be in my speaker set as I change from my sound settings from 5.1 to 4.1 and now all is OK. ATC and other cockpit voices are working OK.
