April 17, 20251 yr I've searched, but sorry I can't find an answer to my question. Just recently getting back into simming after an ~ 7 yr hiatus. I have my old Saitek Cessna Flight Yoke which I loved, but can't get it to work in Windows 10. Any suggestions? Thanks P.S. I did install the 64 bit driver from Saitek, but to no avail. April 18, 20251 yr Author Let me give a little more detail if that helps. When I plug the yoke into either a powered USB port or directly into the computer it just beeps every couple of seconds. I'm using P3D V5.4, in which the yoke shows up in the list of devices, but won't allow me to set the aileron or elevator axis, or any of the buttons. The problem does appear to be more of a problem with computer recognizing the yoke vs P3D V5.4. Hope this helps. Thanks, Tom Tom MAKA = Make America Kind Again
April 18, 20251 yr The controller board in these devices can fail and generate symptoms such as you describe. You need to find another computer and try the yoke to see if all axis are recognized. In not, the yoke is defective. Just for perspective, I had a CH Eclipse that worked fine until one day the axis began to move erratically. The PC recognized the yoke, yet the axis did not. Since I know a bit about these things, after a while I concluded that the yoke had finally failed. I purchased another used unit on Marketplace, and my issues went away.
April 18, 20251 yr Author Okay, sorry for all the drama. I tried a different USB port on the computer and it works fine now. I guess it was just a bad a USB port. It doesn't work with the powered USB hub though, something to keep in mind. On to flying again, whoopee! Thanks for your suggestions flyforever and all the other views. A yoke doesn’t need a powered hub. It needs plugging in to a USB port connected directly to the motherboard. Ray (Cheshire, England). April 19, 20251 yr Author Got it, that seemed to be the problem along with a probable bad USB port on the computer. Again, it's working fine now. Thanks Ray, Tom Tom MAKA = Make America Kind Again
