May 27, 20251 yr Slightly flummoxed. I'm a long time user of X-plane/MS Flight Sims (most of them) etc, etc.. and, like many of us, have gained a pretty good arsenal of tips and tricks to sort the odd things that MSFS2020 and 2024 throw at us from time to time. But I was at my brother-in-law's yesterday to help him install MSFS2024. But before we got to that, he raised a very recent issue he was having with MSFS2020. He is a keen user of MSFS2020, using it and his Hotas for around a year - but now he had an issue with the roll which, in both directions, slowly continued even once he had levelled the wings. I tried flying a number of aircraft on his sim and rig and had exactly the same experience. So the only way of returning to straight/level flight was to get level, then adding a short blast of opposite aileron to stop the continuing roll. My first thought was the centering of his Thrustmaster T1600M joystick. But the spring of the T1600 is quite strong so, physically, it was centering fine and it is still fairly new. So I went into the Sensitivity settings to see what the sim was experiencing. The movement dot was spot on in the centre of the graph. Left or right then release of the stick brought the dot back to the centre every time. I added a touch more dead zone. No change. I checked the rudder centering - fine Rebooted the PC - no change Looked closely at the external view whether the ailerons were centering. They seemed to be completely normal on all aircraft models we tried. But I still suspected the joystick centering. So - I helped him install MSFS2024. Yes - you guessed it. Exactly the same HOTAS - roll stopped as soon as the stick was centred...exactly as it should. So it's NOT the centering of the joystick that is the problem in MSFS2020. This was his first MSFS2020 flying session since the recent update - may or not be relevant. Anyone else got this issue? Any ideas? As always, all comments and suggestions gratefully received. May 27, 20251 yr Yes I have the same problem. I tried everything I could think of even a full re-install. I finally gave up. Playing msfs 2024 now because my yoke works there. Mine was always going hard to the right a. ll the time. I use a CH yoke. Hopefully someone can figure it out because I have hours into it.

Hmmm...that's interesting. My own MSFS2020 is currently running OK but my brother-in-law's installation still has the problem. I was thinking about telling him to re-install, but I'll maybe wait to see if this is a more widespread issue. Thanks for the reply! May 27, 20251 yr I think it came after the last update. I unpluged every usb controller including keyboard and mouse and it still always went to the right. When I went into the senstivity setting it looks like it was working fine. I don't know what to check now. Let me know if you figure anything out. thx

May 27, 20251 yr one thing to try is to go to windows control panel and calibrate the stick and rudder by setting them back to default. Thrustmaster: they have an app that works with their brand of controllers. In my opinion, it messes things up. It messed up my Pendular Pedals in 2020 but not in 2024. Even after removing that app and recalibrating in Windows Control panel or in the sim. Still messed up. I saw a hint on Reddit which cured the issue. Uninstall the TM app from the gaming computer. Next, plug in the TM controllers on any old computer, e.g. a simple laptop. No need to install flight simulator on the cheap laptop. Calibrate them in Windows Control Panel on the laptop. Unplug the controllers and plug them back in on the gaming computer. Sounds weird but it completely solved my issue. The Pendular pedals (expensive) have perfectly since in 2020. I was actually going to return the purchase of the pedals, until I did this. This all happened before 2024 was ever released. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. May 27, 20251 yr I'll have to try that. Done everything but plug it into another pc to calibrate it. thx ( my is a CH yoke tho)
May 27, 20251 yr Author I’ll have a proper delve into your suggestions @Fielder Many thanks for the detailed feedback. Ryzen 7 9800x3D @5.2GHz; ASUS X670-P Motherboard; nVidia 4080 (factory o/c); 32G 5600MHz DDR5 SDRAM; Pimax Crystal Light VR Headset; Quest 3 VR Headset
