Winwing section MSFS2020/24 (tips and tricks)

Featured Replies

Hi,

Anyone wants a section only for Winwing hardware combined with MSFS2020/24?

Then use this one

I myself have alot of issues with freezing or black screens with both the profiles in flightsim.to and the official with Simapp Pro.

Also loading saved flights is only black screens but bottons ok

Thanks

this in terms of this thread? well, let's give it a try.

as per your challenge, let's start with which of the WW hardware you refer to? do you mean the MCDU?

Phil Leaven

i5 10600KF, 32 GB 3200 RAM, ASUS 4070 12GB EVO, Asus ROG Z490-H, 2 WD Black NVME for each Win11 (500GB) and MSFS (1TB), Rolling Cache 16GB, Photogrammetry always OFF, Live Weather and Live Traffic always ON, Res 2560x1440 on 27"

Thanks, well not the MCDU which works pretty well but the FMC737 aka PFP3N.

I get freezes with the iFly737 inflight  and recover inflight is always with black screen.

Seems like not starting from Cold and dark is an issue?

The issue above is both with the  profile from flightsim.to and simapp pro.

I neither own the PFP3N (MCDU here) nor the iFly (well, I actually do but wait for 2024 compatibility), so probably not much help here from me. Except some probably generic questions

1. is the PFP3N on latest firmware? My MCDU recently got v 1.0.3 IIRC.

2. You mention "profiles" and SimAppPro. Do you refer to Mobiflight profiles? Than yes, that is my recommended way to go with the FBW or Fenix buses I fly. But NO SimAppPro, I just use that for upgrading firmware.

Well the hardware per se should be pretty much the same except coloring and button labels. Did you try the iFly without SimAppPro and just use Mobiflight?
otherwise this may be rather a iFly issue as I would not see a reason why it would freeze just because of your WW hardware. Or does it not freeze if you unplug the PFP3N?

Thanks,  I will try a flight unpluggin the MCDU using only the PFP3N. It freezes midflight with both software.

Also it works only from a cold and dark state here.

Do you always starts Mobiflight after MSFS is running?

SimAppPro needs to be started before MSFS.

Edit. I never use both at the same time though

understand you own both MCDU and PFP3N? I would unplug both then and see whether iFly still freezes. Though that hardware plugged in alone should do now harm, they are just stupid USB devices and otherwise your yoke or joystick would potentially also make the iFly freeze.

as mentioned, I NEVER use SimAppPro, it is too clunky and supposingly heavy on the system, but as mentioned I can live without it since MY planes FBW and FENIX don't require to run SimAppPro; but I have - so far - not familiarized with the iFly requirements to use either MCDU or PFP3N.

I instead only use Mobiflight, which I usually start before 2024 (in my case) but sometimes also later when FS is running, works both ways.

Thanks , its not the whole Ifly MAX that freezes. Its just the remote FMC using either software.

Restarting the software and the screen is black

Will try to do so. Thanks

Can you use it from any state?

yes, no restrictions (unless you have something more specific in mind by "any state")
