Using the FSX aircraft selection screens, one can set/change the registration numbers (atc_id) for a particular aircraft. I have observed that the new numbers are also displayed on the fuselage exterior in the sim. Question, is there any way to control the color of the exterior registration number display or are they automatically set by the software?Stan V.

Forget the question - further investigation reveals that the premise was faulty. One cannot independently change the display of the registration mumber. My mistake - sorry.Stan V.

In FS9, some airplanes were changeable, others not..In the aircraft.cfg file you could specify things like:atc_id=atc_id_color=If you look in the C172 in FSX, you'll also find this for some of the paints.If you change this in the aircraft selection window, it gets stored in the state file for the airplane.Try searching for state.cfg in Documents and Settings.
