August 5, 2025Aug 5 Hi, I recently installed Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (Steam version), but I’m having serious installation issues: When I launch the sim, it skips the content installation step (no prompt to select installation path or download 150+ GB of content). It goes straight to the main menu with limited functionality. Content Manager is missing, and I can’t install any purchased addons. The Marketplace is broken – when I try to purchase something, Steam opens in a foreign (gibberish) language and hangs on loading. I already tried: Deleting UserCfg.opt and replacing it with a fresh config Disabling Steam Cloud for MSFS Running the sim as Administrator Verifying game files in Steam Creating a new installation folder (C:\MSFS2024) Registry and folder cleanup Despite all that, the sim doesn’t prompt me for full installation and no additional packages are downloaded. Also, my Rolling Cache folder is empty, and the simulator shows very low data usage (~8 GB), so I suspect the sim is running with only the base launcher files. I'm on: Windows 11 Ryzen 7 7800X3D + RX 7800 XT 2K monitor, game installed on NVMe SSD Any help from the team or someone who fixed this would be appreciated. Thanks!
August 5, 2025Aug 5 I don't own the Steam version, but I do have Steam games loaded on my PC. Isn't all their games managed through their Steam app? Where you can uninstall, install and repair what you downloaded? Have you tried starting the game from the Steam app? Everything is streamed as you use the sim. When SU3 releases it will add the option in the content manager to manually download packages if you want. Edited August 5, 2025Aug 5 by Tuskin38
