August 21, 2025Aug 21 After the latest MSFS 2024 Sim Update 3 of today, there seems to have been some enhancements to the German Cities. However, I'm not much of a city visitor...🙂...Plus, with PG being (pretty much) perpetually off on my Xbox system...to avoid the (ungainly) sights of pyramidal structures and melted buildings...🙂...I am never sure what I would expect to see in the cities up and close. Anyway, today, I just felt triggered for taking one of my (regular) short trips in Germany (since I haven't done so in ages). Here, I depart from (EDDG) Münster (which is a city in western Germany) then fly mostly across the lowlands and plains (though picturesque in their own rights) with occasional appearance of some gentle hills en route (see images), to my final destination, (EDDC) Dresden, the capital city of the German state of Saxony (see EFB Map below for my Route). In one of my images below, you can clearly spot the Elbe River that flows through Dresden, which is a major river in Central Europe and a defining feature of the city of Dresden. So, for this flight, I'm far from the high peaks of the Bavarian Alps which lie along the southern border of Germany and extend into Austria. Still, I hope you enjoy this collection of images from my (relaxing) trip today...in this nice Beechcraft C90GTx twin turboprop SIM (developed by Carenado/Microsoft). The (RW) C90GTx a/c is the latest iteration of Beechcraft’s popular entry-level turboprop and a direct descendant of the (legendary) King Air introduced in the mid-1960s. This SIM a/c was fun to fly (not to mention, quite capable too for trouble-free navigation and ILS touchdown). Moreover, it is equipped with the (advanced) Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion avionics suite, and, hence, a bit of novelty in the flightdeck was always welcome for this virtual aviator...🙂...compared to the (more familiar) Garmin avionics suite...
