Saitek Panel Config problem

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a Saitek Multi Panel and Radio Panel, I had the Flaps switch on the multi panel configured to lower and raise the landing gear in the Fenix A320.

Recently I noticed it wasnt working, on looking at the config I notice that each panel has 3 Config panels, two of which are Red and one not. They all have different midi channels.

What have I done?

We are talking about "Hardware -> Saitek panel config" ?

A red panel means that at some point a device existed with a certain GUID (=the identifier that Windows uses for HID devices), that also has a config, but is not connected to the computer anymore. Apparently I didn't think this through (it never happened before), because AAO assigns different MIDI channels for each differnt device, connected or not. It doesn't know any better, it can't decide which device is a duplicate of another one, and which device is gone forever or just temporarily unplugged. On the other hand, it can't just delete these configs either, because if it did, you would lose your data every time you start AAO while the device is simply unplugged. But - the MIDI channel only matters, when you are using MIDI Mode with the Saitek Panels - is that what you are doing?

I think that the only thing you can do in this state is to edit the configuration file:

C:\Users\you\AppData\Local\LORBY_SI\LorbyAxisAndOhsMSFS\SaitekHardwareCfg_MSFS.xml

and remove the unwanted devices from this file.

Or delete the file entirely when AAO is not running, then it will create a fresh one - but you lose all your Saitek Panel configs!

Thanks. I forgot to say I was in 2024, but, I've deleted the same files in the 2024 folder and that has sorted it
