Thinking of upgrading from a I7 13700k (running at stock speed, turbo too hot and too loud), Asus B660 MB, & 32 gig DDR4, To a Ryzen 7-7700k on a Asus Prime X870-P, and 64 gig Crucial pro DDR5. Already got an RTX 480 GC. Mainly using for MSFS 2024 and some train sims and the odd game like RDR II. Can't really afford much better than this setup. Any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking. John.

I don’t think it will make much difference, your GPU is from 2016.  Suggest you save your money until you have a budget for a better more current GPU.

Sorry, missed a digit out, the GPU I have is a RTX 4080, last gen.

Ok, you’ll see a minor improvement, if you can stretch your budget a $100 or less, you’ll see a more significant difference with the 7800X3D.
