too many controllers (not air type)

I have three "alien" USB connected controllers that are not for flightsimming (a piano keyboard etc)

How do I hide them from MSFS 2024 as they are present in my "controls" list

Buy an inexpensive USB hub that can power on/off individual ports, that's what I use= easy HW solution

Disable the devices in Device Manager prior to launching MSFS, Enable after flying= easy SW solution

Buy an inexpensive USB hub = you get what you pay for

Disable the devices = I think that's the best way

Hence why I gave you multiple options.  You could also spend $100 on a hub like I did but I wasn't exactly going to recommend that everyone run out and get a 90W 16 port Hub

Since you're going the software route, you can probably create a batch file to disable the devices before simming and another to re-enable the devices after simming using the pnputil.exe command, something like:

pnputil /disable-device "USB\DevceInstance\ID1Here"
timeout /t 2
pnputil /disable-device "USB\DevceInstance\ID2Here"

The /enable-device switch will re-enable the device. I also have a bunch of (unplugged) audio devices, if I ever get back into music production, I'll give this a shot myself.
