Live traffic real world weather function

Featured Replies

Hi

I enjoy lorby live traffic and the real world weather function but I have noticed that real world weather is just giving me total cloud cover and not my current weather

Any ideas of a fix

Regards

Looks like the NOAA have changed their timestamp format and added milliseconds now. This breaks the METAR strings that LLTX is sending to the sim. Strange though that the sim reacts in this way, I would think that it would ignore invalid METAR data.

I will see what I can do about that tomorrow.

Hi

Just wondering  if you have the time you are able to have a look at lorby traffic real weather.

My location weather is not matching weather in the software

Seems fine to me. Did you check the METAR that came from the NOAA web server, is that matching the local weather? Or is the translation into the sim at fault?

Hi

Thanks for the reply

In the settings " Select time and weather source"

should Time source be

-Local computer  or

-Website

The NOAA URL is

https://aviationweather.gov/api/data/dataserver

I have selected in FSX se Weather themes

Clear Skies (clears all weather ) as I assume when I use  lorby live traffic  "set real weather" that  overrides the fsx weather themes

That is not what I mean.

On the main dialog there is a button that will show you the METAR that the app got from the NOAA. Does that match your local ICAO + weather or not?

Hi

Here is the metar

METAR NZWN 212030Z AUTO 18009KT 9999 FEW014/// BKN034 /// 15/11 Q1021

Looks like the weather is working its overcast outside but the sim is showing scattered clouds

So NOAA reports few clouds at 1400 and broken clouds at 3400 for NZWN. Apparently that is also roughly what it shows in the sim? It will never be accurate, the app just takes the reported METAR and sends it to the sim. The simulator will make of it what it thinks is right. LLTX is not a "weather engine" by any stretch of the imagination, it is nothing more than a messenger.
