I am looking for help with setting up a triple tv display

Featured Replies

I am sure this has been asked many times before so my apologies up front. I have been MS flight simming since it first arrived on the scene many years ago.I have grown weary of spending alot of money on updates that bring very little improvement to the sim experience. I now find myself retired with Parkinson's disease. I tell you this because stupidly I still want to upgrade to enjoy simming now that I have more time at home because of Parkinson. "Get to the point old Man"  My pc currently is I7 13th gen, 32 gig RAM and an RTX 4070. I have a couple of VR head sets but want to go to triple TV screen. Currently here in the Sunshine coast of Queensland Australia, 3 TCL 50 " 4K QLED will cost me approx $ 2060 AUD. Will running these 3 tv's take too big of a hit on my framerate and graphic settings ? We now have frame generator ect so I thought maybe I can get away with it ? I would be very grateful for any advice. Chrisro

I use a 9950X3D and a 5090. I try and use TAA as the glass cockpit displays annoy the hell out of me. With TAA and FSR FG (so that it provides FG accross all three displays) I can maintain 35-40 native at iniBuilds EGLL. I limit my FPS to 30 and FG doubles to 60. If I can maintain 30 FPS native, its very smooth. If I dip below 30 then I get stutters.

What I’m finding is that with SU4 Beta, the main thread is really no longer an issue - I’m consistently seeing around 15ms timing on the main thread, even with TLOD at 300 and OLOD at 200 + 50 AI aircraft. That’s enough main thread headroom for me to easily be able to maintain 40 FPS native (althogh I cap at 30). WHat is a problem is the GPU timing even with the 5090. In clear skies during the day time its fine. With RayTraced shadows OFF I get GPU 20ms at EGLL in the Fenix which allows the 35-40 FPS native. If however you throw in some overcast cloud it will drop quickly as its rendering a LOT of cloud accross the three monitors. Worse still is night lighting. Its the one thing that kills the 5090 is 3 x 4K at night. In those circumstances I have to switch to DLSS quality and hope for the best.

To answer your question about a 4070 and a 13th Gen Intel - I'd say don't do it. Not at 4k anyway. I think you'll struggle to maintain 30 native FPS. 3 x 2k? Maybe. But at 4k you'll struggle.

try with 2K - 4K - 2K and see what that does for you.
