Add-ons.cfg vs Add-ons.cfg

Featured Replies

I understand that there two of those and i understand how add-ons are added to either one.

My question relates to performance. I recall reading somewhere that in one of these, all folders are scanned for changes each time P3D is started whereas this is not the case for the other one. This could be important where one has a large number of add-ons. I can't remember where I saw this, nor can I find it again.

Can anyone confirm or infirm the above?

Any help much appreciated.

IIRC, one is for addons such as scenery and aircraft and the other is more for addon modules that run within the sim. As far as I know, neither of them scan your sim at all let alone when the sim is started.
