November 12, 2025Nov 12 Flying the YS-11 in MSFS 2024. If I put the throttle below a certain spot, the "Low Stop Unsafe" warning lights come on. When I increase the throttles the warning lights go out. However, sometimes the two yellow and one red "High Stop Unsafe" lights come on, then there is a loud rattling sound, and the aircraft crashes, even if I reduce the throttles. Can't figure out why the High Stop Unsafe comes on, and how to have it go off, stop the rattling and not crash. Would appreciate any assistance. Really love the aircraft, BTW. However, there are no instructions on what to do with the levers when the warning lights come on. Do you know of any tutorials that explain what to do with the levers to make the warning lights go off? I know when the low stop warning lights come on, if you increase throttle they go out. But don't know what to do with the throttles and/or HPC levers when the high stop warning lights come on. I'm not a really knowledgeable turboprop guy, and have flown exclusively in pistons, so any help would be appreciated. Forever indebted to the late Michael Greenblatt of FSGS.
November 13, 2025Nov 13 So after takeoff don't forget to move the HPC levers from lock out to just ON. For yet more about the lights, which I would treat more as advisory lights than warning lights, read pages 422-426 of this scanned in manual. As of yet the inibuild's version's logic isn't 100% there and I'm hoping they didn't just abandon it, but we'll see: https://archive.org/details/piedmont-ys-11-training-guide/page/n421/mode/2up
