  1. I'd recommend the following aircraft to start. Unknown about custom missions. Carenado - Cessna 182RG Piper Arrow Piper Seminole (a twin) Cessna 337 (inline twin) Justflight - Piper Arrow
  2. Ridiculous, the aircraft has been in development since 2023, with the devs outlining that they utilized 3D scans of a real Mi-2 they had access to, plus their own recordings of said aircraft.
  3. I have the RealSimGear GTN750 hardware so I pop out the PMS750 onto that to supplement the lack of modern navigation avionics in the Mi-2. (Also to display a GPS altimeter in feet since everything in the helo is metric).
  4. I'm confident it's coming and suspect they don't want to give a precise deadline, as many devs shy away from those now due to the inevitable squawking if they miss it. My presumption is in the last three months of 2026. They know what features they want to add at minimum, and are already working on the 2024 version from what I read on Discord. Regarding the Huey, I suspect the Taog masterpiece threw them for a loop and they realized they have to achieve higher fidelity to compete. This is my guess. Of course, Blackbird/Milviz isn't known for their expedience either. They announced the 737-200 in the *year* 2020 to be released for that sim, and here we are in 2026. From a quick look the Blackbird/Milviz Huey was first announced in 2022.
  5. Very respectfully, I think that's a mischaracterization, as I think "back burner" means set aside with no active development to appear sometime later...maybe. I am not a company/dev rep, but from what I see clearly in their statements across social media, active development of the 2024 version is going on now, to be released in the coming months. 2020 was already in the queue and finalized first, and they're making a native 2024 by using lessons learned (and feedback) from 2020 to move forward. I think we all know about the new challenges with the 2024 SDK too. So...it's being worked, it's coming, but we just need patience.
  6. This is now released via Simmarket. 2024 version coming later this year / in a few months with new and native features. https://secure.simmarket.com/digital-aeronautics-mi-2-hoplite-msfs20.phtml The list of features, with a focus on the systems, is impressive.
  7. My understanding is that the helo has been thoroughly tested and this will be a fully featured release rather than an early access or "beta" for 2020. Also it sounds like these will be very separate products for each sim, with 2024 features to be incorporated later this year via the 2024 SDK (so it's "native") in addition to new avionics options, new external variants (agricultural spraying version for example), etc etc. Additional features for both editions of the helicopter will appear based on customer feedback, so it sounds like if you want to weigh in on "nice to haves" in 2024, then try out the 2020 version. I'm cautiously optimistic as they've proven that they've done their research and seem to be making quite an effort. Early reports just based on visuals from the notoriously cranky Russian flightsim community also show that they are generally happy - they seem to have a few rivet counters and there are a few comments literally counting rivets, pins, and screws to ensure they haven't missed anything (one comment was complaining about missing a pinhead sized sensor in an a/c cooling fan...yes we're at that level), but it's at that level of nitpicky vs showing general displeasure with the visuals. As someone for whom 2020 works better (due to favored addon compatibility and computer specs....too many 2024 issues), I'm glad that the initial release supports 2020, and I'll look forward to the 2024 version late in 2026 (in which I may transition to that sim by then). 23 April via Simmarket, price TBA early next week.
  8. This is due to be released on Simmarket on 23 April. Price to be announced. 2024 version later in the year with new features and tech based on community feedback of 2020 version.
  9. I’ve been following them on discord since they made their existence known. Some very impressive screenshots and their systems and sound implementation sounds top notch. Real pilots involved, they recorded a real helo themselves, flight dynamics partially run external to sim and partially internal, etc etc. The release date is due to be announced tomorrow and will occur sometime this month, and will be via Simmarket initially and 2020 only. 2024 to follow. If I recall correctly they applied to be a marketplace provider in MSFS a year or more ago but no progress getting approval (an issue I’ve heard from other devs as well).
  10. For 2020 users it looks like only a single blank white livery is included based on what I'm seeing in that Marketplace. Not sure what else is changed or degraded for that sim, but it seems to be oriented mostly to the 2024 audience. Inibuilds has failed to follow up on a number of issues with the YS-11, notably a significant geometry / LOD "gap" that appears when the main cabin entry door is open (opposite of the door), so I'm hoping they did a better job with the Fokker, and that 2020 users will get the featured liveries.
  11. Not sure why helos, vintage, and concept are separated out from the others, but that’s what I picked though I’d opt for GA and helos/vintage if I could. Note: General Aviation defines the type of flight it is, not the type of aircraft. Example: PMDG’s Boeing Business Jet version of the 737 is GA - just like a corporate livery on the Fenix A320 is too. Likewise flying a Cape Air Cessna 402 (or in the sim, something like a 404 due to lack of model) would be an airliner. It is great that the sim caters to such variety, though I think most here would advocate for jet airliners 24/7 if they could.
  12. Version 2 of NextGen's EMB110 is coming to 2024 in the next two months: https://msfsaddons.com/2026/01/02/nextgen-simulations-breaks-silence-with-emb-110-v2-announcement-and-saab-updates/ As someone who still uses 2020 (due to the majority of my favorite scenery and aircraft addons not having fully working 2024 versions yet), I'm hoping we'll see more for 2020 continue through at least the first half of the coming year. Perhaps Carenado's Saab 340 will make it over since they've transferred a few of their other 2024 aircraft to 2020 at this point (and it started life as a P3D-era aircraft anyway). Also, this is coming likely by the end of the month: https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/casa-c-212-200-for-fs20-fs24.460367/
  13. Razbam *may* be making one for MSFS if they fully transitioned off of DCS at this point. Will try to confirm.
  14. Well aware - and that was the reasoning given for ini providing no further support or updates: no time and no additional money.
  15. It’s a shame that it hasn’t been and likely won’t be updated to fix the sounds, fix the interior hole in the cabin (across from the entrance when steps are open) and a plethora of other items pointed out on the Inibuilds YS-11 forum as well as the MSFS official forums. I don’t understand having a forum for support when updates are not coming.
  16. I looked back in their forum in 2019 and 2020 and you're absolutely right. They had promised for P3Dv4+ but dropped this product line for MSFS. My mistake and I edited my post above with the list of developments. It's been too many years. I think my post above overall supports the OP's notion of a lack of turboprop[liners] for MSFS, as most developers stated intentions but with little meaningful follow-up, though we have a few newer announcements that we need to be patient on. Here's hoping for some good turboprops in 20206!
  17. As can be seen through the annual Navigraph surveys, the vast, vast majority of simmers (that at least will do a survey) want the latest modern jet airliners only. A developer takes a risk with anything not under that umbrella. I also repeatedly see posts from many users on this forum claiming that they *only* fly the Fenix Airbus or PMDG Boeing series. It's what sells. If talking propliners from the 1930s, 40s, 50s, etc I think our best bet will remain the PMDG DC-6 for the foreseeable future as I can't see other robust developments selling that well. I think RedWing has the Constellation too. Regarding turboprops from let's say the 1970s onwards: 1. There was a screenshot on Reddit multiple months ago of a post on Twitter/X from Razbam (which I can't find independently anymore) noting that Razbam may be getting back into the MSFS arena due to DCS challenges, and with that was going to be bringing back their Fairchild Metroliner. I don't know where that project stands today. I've debated contacting Razbam directly about this but not sure if I should. 2. I think there's also space for Carenado's Beech 1900D to come back despite the antagonism against the company, and I think we'll see that happen in a year or two as they migrate more of their projects over (as they've claimed they would). 3. A few years ago PMDG had promised to bring the Jetstream 41 to MSFS 2020 but that obviously was broken at this point and I don't see any plans for their product mentioned in their long-winded updates. (Error, as the promise was for P3Dv4+ which never happened either. Product line dropped since then). 4. Someone on the Official MSFS Forums is claiming that JustFlight is considering development of a Fokker 50, but I imagine that's 2+ years out if they even decide to do it. Carenado also had this as a P3D-era product so we may see their version come online for MSFS at some point too. 5. Cockspur had claimed at one point to be co-developing an Antonov An-26 but I think their entire business has fallen off due to the lead developer moving to Microprose as a project lead, plus starting other side projects (Kamov helicopters) that he is taking his time on due to outside commitments. 6. Developer OctopusG is back in action and starting a classic Soviet series and has plans for an Ilyushin IL-14 but that may be at least a couple years out (with other aircraft ahead of that in line). 7. Developer PILOT'S is apparently working on Version 2 of their Dash 7. No ETA. 8. Blacksquare has their Cessna 208 coming out hopefully this coming year, which is on the smaller side but at least is a popular commuter turboprop in the US. 9. There is a CASA C-212-200 coming imminently: https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/casa-c-212-200-for-fs20-fs24.460367/ 10. Not a civilian aircraft but a big turboprop, developer GKS has expressed intent to work on a Tupolev Tu-95 but development may not even start for a year as updates for existing products are taking priority (F-111, B-52, etc), then a revamp of the MiG-21, plus complications since some of their dev team remains in Kyiv and is subject to bombing/missile attacks (ironically probably from the Tu-95 at least in part). 11. Blackbird has a Turbine/Turbo Otter in development. 12. NextGen Simulations has or had (no clue on status) a Saab 340B and Saab 2000 in development but this was news from 2022/2023. Ultimately it's all down to market value and return on investment unless a company wants to either 1) accept the loss due to it being a passion project, or 2) make something so profoundly detailed and realistic with never-before-seen features that it becomes a "must have" regardless of the type of aircraft (like the A2A Comanche).
  18. I forgot about this and really hoping we’ll see it. He said it was partially taken over by a large well respected developer/publisher so I’m hoping it sees the light of day. Haven’t heard anything since early September so I hope work is ongoing.
  19. Looking forward to the following in 2026: Taog’s AS365 Dauphin Taog’s SH-3 Sea King Helix Collective’s Ka-27 and Ka-32 Miltech and Project Stratosphere’s Bo 105 OctopusG’s Yak Ut-1 and Po-2 GKS’s version 2 of the MiG-21 Flying Fries’ Mi-24P Hind
  20. I advanced my in-sim date to 25 December as we're not quite there yet in my time zone, and loaded up the GKS B-52H Stratofortress. Quite a nice Christmas surprise happened! Just wondering if anyone has found any Christmas...I guess you can't call them Easter Eggs....in their aircraft or scenery if the in-sim (or computer system) date is 25 December.
  21. You seem to be projecting a lot and it's both unnecessary and proves you have no constructive or intelligent input. I am a real world licensed pilot with a successful career. Stay in school kid. Hope everyone enjoys the new content. I'm sure we'll see more of it pending popularity. Best wishes to MS upon release. Oh, and one thing that is a positive, the Taog Huey...his team does make great products.
  22. I hope those here don’t lament the loss of a realistic high fidelity aviation simulation option in the coming years in favor of flying fictional planes around fictional planets/scenery in the name of “fun”. Barnstorming adventures from the 1920s and 30s are historically realistic and fun, landing challenges are maybe slightly less realistic but can have a basis in reality, use realistic assets, and are fun. Stunt flying is fun, movie filming using helos is fun. These things are what 2024 initially aimed for and advertised when it came out! More varied scenarios grounded mostly in reality that demonstrate the breadth of what is seen around the world in the aviation sector. Now we’re onto monsters, planets, aliens, dinosaurs, and who knows what else. If you can’t see the negatives to that scope creep then I’m sorry for you (and I hope you are far far away from a project management career).
  23. MS product analysts note a bunch of new customers or an uptick in existing customer engagement following Stranger Things DLC (or pick anything pop-culture in the future) or the promotion of fantastical third party products. MS product analysts and bean counters (pick your accurate job title) say, hey more media attention, customers, and money compared to just regular airplane and landmark DLC announcements and releases. Pop-culture DLC releases make the big news and entertainment websites. MS/Asobo MSFS told to make more Pop-Culture. More press and fans. MS/Asobo MSFS team say, hey we want/need to develop the next realistic plane and landmark pack highlighting country X and airplane Y. MS bean counters say no, the money is in the hollywood and fantasy DLC, focus on that as there is a better return on investment for our shareholders. Next iteration of MSFS due. Bean counters say sales won't be good enough unless you focus more on fantasy and hollywood stuff from the get go. Don't just release a boring airplane game. Regular planes won't be dropped completely, but it won't be a priority. Development is prioritized based on estimated return on investment. I've worked with MS (not for, with) and similar companies. This is how they operate. It may even be against the wishes of Jorg and the actual team, but while he has influence, he doesn't get the final say in strategic direction. We'll see what happens in the coming years. Not saying 2024 will totally shift, it's too late for that, I'm talking about the next full program.
  24. Fully understand that and fully agree. Promotion, marketing, advertisements of dinosaurs and monsters is a negative thing for MSFS.
  25. By posting that page, MSFS/Asobo is marketing/endorsing/promoting that addon regardless of if they coded it. Perhaps they didn't do the modeling or coding and I concede that I may have been incorrect in that regard, but they are doing these other words, that I recommend you look up. The community rep said that MSFS did not market the addon (quoted me earlier and said I'm 100% right), but evidence to the contrary was then easily provided. It's also seen on their official instagram. MSFS promotes other addons too - some contribute towards realism in the spirit of MSFS and some don't. Anything that promotes fantasy is not "as real as it gets" and dilutes the program. Enjoy your dinosaurs, I'll enjoy my realistic scenery and aircraft that reflect reality. Kids these days....
