  1. Looks like livery pack 1 was released through CS's own webstore, featuring three liveries so far. a 70s-era USAF (green and tan camo), a current Japan Air Force, and a decade-old Royal Netherlands Air Force livery (which users have noted has a number of inaccuracies). It sounds like the next update/patch for the model itself is forthcoming and will introduce a custom sound-set, and will fix a few systems and pilot visibility issues. If they release that and another livery pack with US Coast Guard, Israeli Air Force, and pretty much any other interesting livery, I think I'll go for it. Captain Sim seems committed to not supporting/allowing third-party repaints unfortunately, so we just have to hope that upcoming packs are good. They are accepting livery requests on their official forums, but with no guarantees as to what they'll pick, and no indication as to how many packs/liveries they will release. I have asked on their forums for a rough development roadmap that addresses approximately how many liveries and livery packs they will release, what they hope to accomplish with future patches/updates, if additional features and model variants are forthcoming, and if their ethos may change regarding restrictions on allowing end-user liveries, as they are the only developer I know of that actively blocks (or makes it difficult) for end-users to create their own. I'm tentatively excited about this one following new sounds / next patch, and an assurance of numerous forthcoming liveries, even if their end-user concept doesn't change.
  2. From the developer: “About the aircraft… I wouldn’t compare it to A2A or Black Square’s aircraft. The systems I have implemented are nowhere near as complex as theirs. To be honest, the actual aircraft doesn’t even have flaps. All the instruments, work as expected in an aircraft like this but I have no under the hood temperatures damaging cylinders or pressure losses or similar features. For a someone who looks for a hardcore simulation experience I might not have reached his expectations. If in the other hand he was looking for an Errol Flynn like Silver Screen experience…I hopefully might be closer… I did read the comments about duplicated aircraft. When the 4AT was released I had already spent a lot of time in the 5AT and, this being a personal project and a different version, I wasn’t going to stop making it. I also remember Taog releasing a video of another Ford Trimotor before that too. It is inevitable that teams and individuals might start the same project based on personal preferences when they don’t know about each other. All you can do is try to do your best.”
  3. I've asked for more specifics regarding systems, sounds, flight dynamics, and other advanced features on the official forums. I know that the author was implementing a wwise sound package, but in terms of overall effort I *think* this is their first creation for MSFS. I would also like to note that AH's version is a 4AT, while this is a 5AT. Guessing that aircraft of this era are decades away from what the vast majority of simmers prefer, but for fans of true "vintage" aircraft, I have high hopes.
  4. https://tukanflightsim.com/ Not affiliated with the dev, but this looks stunning, and significantly better than the Aeroplane Heaven version. The developer just activated their website within the past 24 hours. Coming presumably in the next month or two at the most for MSFS.
  5. Users on the official forums are reporting significant flight dynamics issues with the latest update, with the aircraft able to climb at 4000ft+ per minute, and reach FL350+. Also noting that the throttles have to be near idle to not exceed red line / VNE. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/simworks-studios-and-pilots-dash-7/498069/678 Not sure if PILOTS plans on investigating or addressing these concerns.
  6. I've noticed some airports have a few user-generated "photo sphere" points on the ramps (Ocean City Municipal, in Maryland has a good one on the ramp), but nothing as extensive as the example you provided that I could find yet. Very cool demonstration though!
  7. Having flown a Cessna 172RG Cutlass in the real world, the Carenado 182RG is awesome. Not as feature-rich as an A2A product, but arguably the best of the Carenados so far, based on real-world experience with an extremely similar aircraft. Flies right, looks amazing, and you can choose between the GNS530 or a GTN750.
  8. It's the best option you're going to get by far for now, and for the foreseeable future. Even has the major Terminal 1 concourse opened in 2021. I encourage you to try the smaller airports too in something other than a jetliner. Northern Sky Studio does remarkable work. Note: Hilo is by a random dev and hasn't been updated, but it's nice. Just have to watch the scenery priority order so it's not ahead of Navigraph. See the reviews/comments here: https://secure.simmarket.com/pearl-simulations-2-phto-hilo-international-airport-msfs.phtml
  9. Most of these airports haven't had any major layout changes in years. Honolulu actually has had the most recent development in the real world, and inibuilds PHNL is the most recently released product, so unless you only use scenery that was released or updated within the past few months, I think any changes, should they even exist, would be extremely minor.
  10. Northern Sky Studio has a series of Hawaiian airports available in great detail. Add to that some products by South Oak Co and another dev for Lihue, and you have most airports in Hawaii. Overall - Kauai: Princeville - Northern Sky Studio Port Allen - South Oak Co Lihue Intl - RegDesigns Oahu: Dillingham - South Oak Co Honolulu Intl - iniBuilds Molokai: Molokai - Northern Sky Studio (South Oak also has version) Kaluapapa - Northern Sky Studio (South Oak also has version) Lanai: Lanai - Northern Sky Studio Maui: Kapalua/West Maui - Northern Sky Studio Kahului Intl - Northern Sky Studio Hana - Northern Sky Studio (South Oak also has version) Big Island / Hawaii: Waimea/Kohala - Northern Sky Studio Kona Intl - Oceania update from Asobo/MS Hilo Intl - Pearl Simulations Airports that we're missing payware renditions of: Pacific Missile Range Facility Barking Sands (Kauai) Kalaeloa / John Rogers Field / former NAS Barbers Point (Oahu) Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe (Oahu) Wheeler Army Air Field (Oahu) Upolu (Big Island) Bradshaw Army Air Field (Big Island) A few random crop-dusting fields that even the real-world owners don't want charted
  11. That should work. I use an X52 pro (and independent rudder pedals on the floor) with a setup that I can switch from a yoke and throttle system to joystick aircraft relatively seamlessly. If you've never used a helicopter before, please do some research/reading first. Common mistakes include vastly over controlling. Set your control sensitivities on max and use fingertip pressure and try to anticipate movements. Could go on with further insight, but the short anser is that joystick should work as long as it has a rudder (or for helos, anti-torque rotor) control axis.
  12. I'm sure there would have been a riot if they released a seaplane again, though it would be at least fitting. I guess that'll be what's on tap for next time, likely by Aeroplane Buggy Heaven no-less. For those early adopters of the 47J, please advise of impressions.
  13. Was hoping for something a bit more complex but the "executive Bell 47" will be pleasant enough. Hopefully the inherently simply nature of the real aircraft (piston-powered, and a basic vfr-only panel) will lead to fewer bugs with this initial release. Looking forward to trying it later in the week. One thing I'm not always seeing a correlation between Local Legends and then-current World Updates, so presumably they mean "legend" somewhere in the world broadly. The J model was at least the first helo to fly the US President. (Most egregious was the Caribou with the New Zealand update, a place it's never [regularly] flown to/in)
  14. This is a known issue when encountering a significant amount of injected AI traffic, and is repeatable. (Example: Inject a ton of AIG traffic around areas like New York City). I can't remember the technical terminology that was the real root cause from a programming perspective, but the light malfunctions were tied to AI. Guessing there may be a limit as to light sources that can be displayed at one time in the sim.
  15. I think one of the issues is the threshold in which a user over there can mark a post as problematic. I can't find a reference to the precise number but it seems to be low (maybe only one or two "downvotes" or "flags"). With that said, the system to report bugs to Asobo/MS I find is horrid. Despite moderator insistence to record all issues through their official forums by posting a thread, I have had much better success by emailing developers directly (example: Carenado) who have in turn told me that they do not consistently receive bug reports via the forums due to the need for a bug to be reported on the forums, pushed by a mod, voted on as valid/repeatable, etc etc. And with THAT said, sadly I've observed and/or been subject to significantly more animosity here at Avsim from users who seem to be incredibly aggressive (dare I say "troll-ish") upon initial engagement with a post, while I can't say I've ever experienced any sort of animosity on the Official Forums, and I regularly use both (just under a different name over there). Moderation is a challenge in any community, with both forums having their usual suspects, and also one-sided stories. I would recommend all to leave ALL emotion out of issue-reporting, stick to the facts, and recognize different opinions as such.
  16. I guess we'll have to find out. The downside of not enough info in the original question (understandably due to language barrier hesitation) plus a lack of originality in software names. I guess through your answer the user has the final answer for either program at least.
  17. Oui, ce programme est pour MSFS. Yes, this program is for MSFS. https://msfsaddons.com/2023/09/15/fs-academy-introduces-commander-a-training-module-for-msfs-with-12-highly-challenging-scenarios/
  18. I know that Avsim is more favorable to jet airliners and generally modern aircraft, but I want to highlight one upcoming release and two more in very early development for those looking for something a little different, and for those who don't browse the Official Forums. Rara-Avis, creators for the following already for MSFS: Bulldog Autogyro, Flying Fea, Zippy Sport, and English Electric Wren, and with a long pedigree during the FSX/P3D days have the following coming in 2024: 1. Horten Ho229 / Horten IX "Flying Wing". Preview pics: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/announcement-rara-avis-sims-horten-ix-ho229/625024 2. [In extremely early / initial development:] Sopwith Camel and Sopwith Pup (both previously seen as freeware and payware respectively for FSX/P3D). So....we'll get a unique experimental WW2 jet, as well as two WW1 aircraft. I know most here have zero interest in WW1 for a variety of reasons, but I think these two biplanes will really fill a gap in the sim. I am guessing the Horten is no more than a couple months away, and sincerely hoping for the Sopwiths by the end of 2024 at the latest. Note: I am not a member of the dev team or speak for Rara-Avis in any way - just as a fan.
  19. The link above if you actually have Paypal credentials saved goes straight to a purchase page through PayPal to Golden Age Simulations, which is this developer. As the video has been only out for a day, I wouldn't expect many comments or anything just yet.
  20. Can an end-user provide any sound edits to enable click sounds for the "overhead" panel containing the light switches? As someone else noted, everything else has clicks except for up top above the windshield. Or, is this something only Cockspur can fix? If the latter, has the issue been formally reported to them? (I can do so within the next day if not)
  21. The new Xometry one does look a lot better, and I'm hoping has better support too. Seems like Sierrasim releases a product then abandons it. I've tried following-up multiple times on my support requests to Sierra with no answer. No activity on their Facebook since late Oct as well.
  22. Assuming you mean just jet airliners as there are turboprops and (vintage) props coming as well. Here's a list current as of today: https://msfsaddons.com/2023/11/08/our-continuously-updated-list-of-aircraft-under-development-for-msfs/
  23. They are active on the official MSFS forums, and will be posting more info and patches to their website by mid-January. It will be available through other vendors like Simmarket by then too.
  24. The developers will be releasing a weapons patch, as well as a version through other vendors, by mid-late January. This timeframe will also see a comprehensive update to their MiG-21 Fishbed with new visuals, new sounds, new HUD, new liveries, and more.
