December 5, 2025Dec 5 Hello, today i switched after many years from P3dV4 to V5. I use some Freeware aircraft like this a321 one. You can see the lights on the ground but not at the aircraft. Does somebody know how to fix it? https://ibb.co/6R3QRT1K the link for the picture
December 5, 2025Dec 5 Did you try other add-on aircraft? It might be model specific only. Casual flyer, mostly in Europe, East-Asia and North America. My specs: i7-10700K, GeForce RTX 3060, 16 GB DDR4 RAM, 4 TB SSDs I fly in: Prepar3Dv5.3

Might be an issue with the particular plane. Try one of my freeware aircraft and see if you have the same problem: https://sites.google.com/view/thep3dfiles/home Dave Simulator: P3Dv6.1 System Specs: Intel i7 13700K CPU, MSI Mag Z790 Tomahawk Motherboard, 32GB DDR5 6000MHz RAM, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Video Card, 3x 1TB Samsung 980 Pro M.2 2280 SSDs, Windows 11 Home OS My website for P3D stuff: https://sites.google.com/view/thep3dfiles/home
December 6, 2025Dec 6 There are various issues with the aircraft lights and effects in P3DV5 and V6. The new NVidia 50XX series of cards have issues with various effects in P3DV5 and V6. They worked ok in P3DV4. There are known issues with aircraft lighting in P3DV5. They changed something in V5 and this affected the aircraft lights showing up on the ground and objects. Two people can have the same aircraft, and the lights will perform differently. Sometimes the lights will not show up on ground but will show up ok on the aircraft other times they will show up on the ground and not on the aircraft. Do an internet search and you will find a lot of posts regarding this subject/ Two recommendations: Make sure in Options-Lighting that Dynamic Lighting is enabled. If the landing lights are dim or not showing up on the ground and nearby buildings and Dynamic Light is enabled, you can modify the fx_landing.fx effect in the effects folder. Use a test editor and change the "Falloff Exponent=2.00" to " Falloff Exponent=1.25". Please be aware, not every aircraft uses the default landing light effect. John C. Specs: black box thingy with spinning fans, lights and a bunch of wires that go to screens with pretty colours and a keyboard with many keys. The black box thingy also has a push button activated coffee cup holder. John C.

I just don't know how to install the sounds for the aircrafts You're welcome! You can download freeware sounds on AVSIM and other flightsim sites. Just put the downloaded sound files in a older named "sound" and put this sound folder in the aircraft folder. December 7, 2025Dec 7 Author Good Morning Dave, thank you very much! Can you recommed a soundpack for your airbus? I'm not sure which one is the right one... EDIT: I also tried to install some liveries for your planes like in P3Dv4.. FS2004 Jetliners - FlightSim.Com from here. Do you know where i can find liveries for your Airbus? Like Condor.. There are several CFM, IAE, GE, PW, and RR freeware sounds in the Avsim library. Try to find sounds for FSX if you can as many of them use the sound cone parameters which are more realistic, but FS2004 sounds will work as well. 4 hours ago, Hannes600 said: Do you know where i can find liveries for your Airbus? Like Condor.. For the Airbus A319-A321 look for liveries for the Project Airbus planes. For the Airbus A330 look for liveries for the Thomas Ruth Airbus. For the Boeing 737NG and 767 look for liveries for Project Opensky planes. For the Boeing 737Max look for liveries for AI Aardvark planes. For the Boeing 787 look for liveries for TDS planes, but be aware that in the near future I plan to change the 787s to AIG or UTT AI models as I no longer support TDS models. December 7, 2025Dec 7 Author Hi Dave, Thanks again for your detailed answer! I tried to install a livery the normal way, aircraft.cfg added, texture folder in your 321 folder. The Problem is that i don't see the plane in the sim. I feel like in 2011 with FSX xD. Can you check if your A321SL CFM works with that plane in the link below? D-AIAA is the registration. https://library.avsim.net/search/basic/root/Condor?sort=date&mode=normal&change=&page=3

You can't just cut and paste the repaint aircraft.cfg text as some of the entries will be different for my plane. The easiest thing to do is just copy the [flightsim.0] entry in my aircraft.cfg and only change the texture, atc_id, atc_airline, atc_parking_codes, and ui_variation entries to match the repaint. December 8, 2025Dec 8 Author Hey, now i have the plane in the sim but still with Delta colors. I added the texture folder of the condor 321 in the folder of the 321. Aircraft.cfg was copied like you said. Which textures do i have to change? In the texture folder or aircraft cfg?

I recommend you read through this page about P3D aircraft configuration files: https://www.prepar3d.com/SDKv4/sdk/simulation_objects/aircraft_configuration_files.html It will explain what the different sections are. To install repaints, focus on the [flightsim.n] section.
