December 24, 2025Dec 24 Hello all, Just curious, does anyone else experience random CTDs when flying over the Caribbean Sea east of Central America? For me, it happens when flying between Jamaica and Panama. This happens in MSFS 2020 btw. This is subsequent to the SU16 update (all worked well previously). Jermaine
December 27, 2025Dec 27 Author Hello, I stumbled upon the issue by pure coincidence. It seems to be related to two sceneries installed in the region (by developer V pilot designs). MPTO (Panama) and MROC (Costa Rica). I purchased and installed both from Marketplace. I recently purchased and installed their KHPN scenery (also from Marketplace) and began experiencing the same issue (CTDs) when approaching the New York City area. I uninstalled that scenery and the issue was resolved (never had such issues in the NYC area). Subsequently, uninstalled both of the Central American sceneries (MPTO and MROC) and the CTD issues disappeared as well. I had reached out to the developer previously regarding the faulty afcad for MPTO, never got a reply. So it's probably a waste of time reaching out to them again to resolve the CTD issues. Perhaps the sceneries in their present form are incompatible with the SU16 update for MSFS 2020. Jermaine

Hello Jermaine, Just to clarify for accuracy: we did communicate with you directly via email regarding both the AFCAD question and the CTD reports. Multiple responses were sent, including detailed troubleshooting steps and follow-up requests for additional diagnostic information. We performed internal testing on MPTO, MROC, and KHPN under SU16 and were unable to reproduce the CTD behavior. These airports are currently in use by thousands of users, and no widespread CTD reports related to SU16 compatibility have been received. In our most recent correspondence, you indicated that you did not wish to proceed with further troubleshooting (video capture, debug panel, system specs, package reorder review), which we fully respect. Given the lack of reproducibility and diagnostic data, leaving the sceneries disabled was agreed upon as a reasonable temporary workaround on your system. Additionally, the MPTO AFCAD was updated in the latest Marketplace version released a couple of weeks ago. AI aircraft disappearing after landing is a known MSFS AI limitation that can occur independently of airport configuration, particularly when using third-party ATC or traffic tools. We’re always open to re-evaluating issues if new information or reproducible patterns become available, and we’re happy to assist when possible. Best regards
