For Gaya Sim EDDF...

Featured Replies

Any way to remove the floating lights seen in may locations during taxi?  I see I have the 2020 MSFS EDDF disabled so don't think it's residual from having two versions running.  I'm otherwise totally happy w/ the Gaya Sim version.

Cheers

Yes, Gaya one is a decent rendition of EDDF, that I have been myself using. Of course, there are also excellent payware versions of this major airport, in MSFS.

I have much explored Gaya’s (EDDF) airport scenery (including those massive Maintenance hangars on-site). The premises are sufficiently well-rendered…I think. I used to frequently transit through EDDF with Lufthansa.

I am aware of the floating (appearing) taxiway (and centerline) lights in Gaya scenery, wasn’t sure if they were (or not) supposed to be like this…🙂…You wish to remove them via scenery manipulation, hopefully someone knowledgeable can chime in…

I could be wrong, but Gaya’s hand-crafted airports do not seem to get any further improvements, once introduced via MSFS updates…

Seems like they were well off to the side of taxiway center lines and are very elevated as in maybe 20 ft off the ground.  It's something I can live with but as you say maybe someone can chime in.  I should have done a screenshot so will do that later this evening.

Cheers

Noel:

I moved around (Gaya's) EDDF airport a bit, on the ground, with my Drone Camera (see one sample screenshot, below). The other EDDF version by Asobo, I checked, has been disabled in My Library.

You can spot the taxiway (centerline) green lights, and also the taxiway (edge) blue lights on my screenshot. Frankly, I do not see these lights elevated... (not sure, though, how well the Gaya EDDF resembles the RW Frankfurt airport taxiways...) ...

Check what you see in your case...

I just used the drone and these are the first ones I ran into but the same thing happened during taxi in yesterday in several areas.  It looks like the poles they are on just aren't displaying as even up close during daytime there is nothing under them:

I see. They are quite up above the ground.

They don’t look like green (or blue) taxiway-specific lights…and, if not light poles, clearly some kind of artifacts…

Strange and bothersome…

I don’t (didn’t) see anything like that in my GAYA EDDF airport inspection. BTW, Noel, I’m on Xbox, but that should not matter.
