XML cabs / Windows XP & service pack 1

Featured Replies

FYIAfter installing srvice pack 1 for XP I've noticed all my e-mails that contained any cabbed XML gauges were removed from being accessed.. ( Over 125 messages with attachments. I Archive our project here. ) "OE remvoved access to the following unsafe attatchments in your mail BlahBlah.cab, BlahBlah.zip, RE_BlahBlah.eml" It seems srvice pack 1 changes many of the IE and Outlook Express options. In OE to get back the attachments select, Tools/Options/Security Tab/ and uncheck "Donot allow attachments to be saved or openened that could potentially be a virus" . OE doesn't recognize any thing that "could" be a virus, ( A virus checker is for that) Other than being a harmless attachment. Regards,RomanProject 737-400

Whew! Changed my mind... Now I don't think I gotta install that SP anymore... :-( Pah...

Etienne, I donot know if just that reason should keep you from installing SP1. I saw the "Screensavers" TV show last night and there are some extremely serious security flaws in XP and proceeded to install immediately.. In the FS general forum there have been some complaints about display problems after SP1, none of which are crutial, most are getting better looking graphics. ( I am )Regards,RomanProject 737-400
