How to simulate an APU

Featured Replies

Hi all,This question may have been asked before, but couldn't find it on this forum...I'm building an A300B4, analogue panel for FS2002 and was wondering which FS variables or events are used to simulate a working APU ? Must probably which sets the battery life to endless or something, but I can't find any event or variable which fits this description.Any ideas ?Thanks for the help !Bj

Hi,If I understand correctly you suggest using the TOGGLE_MASTER_BATTERY event. But won't the battery run out after 30 minutes or so ?Regs,Bj

HiI use this for weeks, no alterations in the A.cfg and no battery problems.Besides, you have the generators and as a refuge "reload".APU works great!! Thanks to Roman. The code is also very usefull with other gauges, when you want some delay as with the anti-ice switches and valves etc.Another idea perhaps: A 2 eng. plane with 3 engines??!!Use nr 2 as APU, reduce the power of that engine, let him start by battery untill it generates enough power and air to start the main engines.Strange idea?; perhaps someone can work it out in xml/aircraft.cfg etc.GreetingsPH-JVH
