Hello Dave,

I installed the latest update to version 0.2.9. After starting P2ATC and pressing the connect button, nothing happens. The Com1 and 2 channels are not displayed and the aircraft is not visible in the correct position. It looks as if the connection is not working. I reinstalled version 0.2.8 and everything works. Then I reinstalled version 0.2.9 and there is no connection.
I have the latest version of X-Plane 12 (12.4.0-r2).

Sounds like you're not connecting. The most likely cause is the UDP settings. If that doesn't do it, try the other items.

X-Plane UDP Settings
1. check that the X-Plane UDP information for the SIM Port is set correctly. If running P2A on the same machine, be sure it’s set to the local machine – 127.0.0.1
2. Be sure the option at the bottom of the Network page is set to “Accept Incoming Connections”
3. check that P2A X-Plane Setup on the Common tab of Settings are set correctly. The IP Address and port needs to match the port number in X-Plane. Match the one in X-Plane labeled “Port we receive on (legacy)
4. ensure the SIM is up and running and not paused when you try to connect
Be sure you are connected to the internet. It must be a reliable connection.
Be sure your installation is not corrupted. Download a fresh copy of the P2A full version and/or update and install it.
English-US Language installed and set as Primary Language, English Speech Recognition installed also.
Working Microphone installed and set as Default Audio Input device in Windows
Valid Call Sign – Try using the default call sign of Mfg: Beech; Tail Number: N431VB. Press the Save button.
Try running the program in Administrator mode by right clicking on the Pilot2ATC.exe file and selecting “Run as Administrator”
If connected but the radios aren’t working, check the Battery and Avionics switches on or the “Ignore battery” and “Ignore Avionics” options are checked in P2A Config
If it seems to partially connect but the Connect button does not turn Green, set the Weather option to a different source such as NOAA Real Time Weather and try again.
If still won't fully connect, try deleting the AppConfig.xml file. You will lose your Config settings, but some users have reported that this fixed their connection issue. The file is located at:
c:\users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\P2A_300\Settings\AppSettings.xml

where <UserName> is your PC user name. Portions of the path may be hidden by default, so be sure Windows Explorer has Show Hidden Items checked in the View tab.

I have now tried a few things. Once again, please note that P2ATC runs on a second external PC. The IP address of the X-Plane computer is set and the “Run on X-Plane Remote Computer” option is selected. This works perfectly with version 0.2.8. However, this remote connection no longer works with version 0.2.9. In version 0.2.9, I deselected the “Run on X-Plane Remote Computer” option and restarted XPUIPC (as for the V2 version). This allows the connection to work (I just can't see the AI aircraft).
The settings on the X-Plane computer must be correct, as version 0.2.8 works. I also deleted the AppConfig.xml file and made completely new settings, but without success. I disabled the entire Windows Firewall, but that didn't help either. After installing versions 0.2.8 and 0.2.9 alternately 10 times, I believe that the new version is the problem, as it can no longer connect to the X-Plane remote computer.

Hi Dave,
The issues I was having with P2ATC version 3.0.2.9 were resolved with P2ATC 3.0 RC1. Everything worked fine. With the new P2ATC 3.0 RC2 version, the same problem has now occurred again. I noticed that P2ATC connects to X-Plane 12 (displays “Connected”). However, neither frequencies nor the aircraft’s position are displayed. Everything remains as if in “Not Connected” mode.
I compared both log files. In the new version, there is an error message in the log file. I have now reinstalled the old version, P2ATC 3.0 RC1, and everything is working.

That specific error message is normal and does not affect the operation of P2A.

Strangely, nothing has changed regarding the connection to a remote X-Plane installation. You mentioned in the original post that unchecking the setting "Run on X-Plane Remote Computer" allowed P2A to connect to X-Plane but just the traffic didn't display. Is that still the case?

I tested it again. This is what version P2ATC_RC1 looks like. Everything works:

Then I reinstalled the new version, P2ATC_RC2. The “Run on X-Plane Remote Computer” setting is still enabled. P2ATC is also connected and shows “Connected.” However, no frequencies are visible, and nothing is displayed on the map either.

Then I restarted XPUIPC on the X-Plane PC and on the second PC. The “Run on X-Plane Remote Computer” setting is disabled. It connects again. A little more is visible. But still not everything, and there's no map.

Finally, I reinstalled P2ATC_RC1. I started it up, and it works. X-Plane was running on the main PC the whole time, so I can't imagine that X-Plane is the cause of the problem.

The current version, P2ATC_Update_3000_RC3, is working again. That's strange. Could it possibly be due to the installation of the update? So everything is working again for now. I'll keep an eye on it...
