Spot view ... Default setting wrong , help wanted

Featured Replies

HiWhen I load my model in FS the default spot view distance is increased to 262 feet. This makes the model seem too small and I have to go through the 'view' option to change it back. Can anyone tell me 1. why does it do this and 2. how to correct itThanksJohn

You can try and fix the problem with tcdf-eng.zip - www.flightsim.com maybe here at AVSIM also.

This is something that has always baffled me about FS...how does it determine how far away to set the initial spot view? It seems to pick a different number for each aircraft. There's nothing in the cfg files, and nothing I've noticed so far in the mdl design process...does FS just make some calculation based on who-knows-what information to determine the distance?Matt

Hello wsieffert,I did not find the tool Tcdfsview v1.2 in any of the two locations mentioned above but on http://flightsimmers.net/aindex/utilpage.htmlAs short citation from the readme:Tcdfsviewis is small tool for Microsoft Flightsimulator 2000correcting the aircraft

HiI have now tried Tcdfsview and the results are good. the default view distance has now been reduced to good value. Many thanks to all for pointing me in the right direction.RegardsJohn

Hmm...that's something to try out.Matt

Roughly, mine seems to be 2.5 to 3 times the wing dimension, but mine varies with each start by about 5-10 percent. Milton
