October 30, 200223 yr HiWhen I load my model in FS the default spot view distance is increased to 262 feet. This makes the model seem too small and I have to go through the 'view' option to change it back. Can anyone tell me 1. why does it do this and 2. how to correct itThanksJohn
October 30, 200223 yr You can try and fix the problem with tcdf-eng.zip - www.flightsim.com maybe here at AVSIM also. Bill Sieffert
October 30, 200223 yr This is something that has always baffled me about FS...how does it determine how far away to set the initial spot view? It seems to pick a different number for each aircraft. There's nothing in the cfg files, and nothing I've noticed so far in the mdl design process...does FS just make some calculation based on who-knows-what information to determine the distance?Matt
October 30, 200223 yr Hello wsieffert,I did not find the tool Tcdfsview v1.2 in any of the two locations mentioned above but on http://flightsimmers.net/aindex/utilpage.htmlAs short citation from the readme:Tcdfsviewis is small tool for Microsoft Flightsimulator 2000correcting the aircraft
October 30, 200223 yr HiI have now tried Tcdfsview and the results are good. the default view distance has now been reduced to good value. Many thanks to all for pointing me in the right direction.RegardsJohn
October 30, 200223 yr Another question or hypothesis...Is the default spot view radius equal the AI aircraft model radius ??If so it may make AI aircraft act differently if changed.Regards,Roman[link:www.packers.com]GREEN BAY PACKERS][/i :-ukliam :-beerchug FS RTWR SHRS F-111 JoinFS Little Navmap
October 31, 200223 yr Roughly, mine seems to be 2.5 to 3 times the wing dimension, but mine varies with each start by about 5-10 percent. Milton
