April 2Apr 2 Dan Piraro's newspaper cartoon Bizarro is now in its 41st year. I always thought it sort of a poor man's Farside. Not as clever, but it sold newspapers because it had a few nonsense symbols hidden in every cartoon. Which made it sort of like a crossword puzzle to find them. After a few years he got the idea of telling the reader how many symbols were in that cartoon by putting the total number above his signature. His 14 symbols (there are two different ones for Olive Oyl). Piararo's wife sort of looked like Olive Oyl from the Popeye cartoons, and his two daughters were named Katherine Killian and Kathryn Kaitlyn (therefore O2 and K2). 14 original symbols: 10 symbols in this cartoon (is a little 10 above Piraro's name and he is making fun of his wife by having the psychiatrist look like Olive Oyl). https://www.facebook.com/lynnmiclea.author/posts/there-are-10-hidden-symbols-in-this-one-and-yes-a-symbol-counts-as-many-times-as/1165891038233897/ Olive Oyl is 1.
