May 27May 27 This just started today when I started-up my P3dv5.4.I get to the point where my aircraft is on the runway, then my RTX 3090 suddenly starts to whine, and I get the hated BSOD.I've been having the same problems as many users of FSDT products lately,so I uninstalled all 4 FSDT airports:GSX;GSX lvl2:and the Add-on Mngr.No luck. Still getting the BSOD. I have not added any new add-ons recently.I noticed in the Task Manager as I started P3d that the usage climbed rapidly to 3,000MB just before blacking out.Is there something else I can do ?? My P3d has NEVER done this before and I'm really worriedThaks for ANY help !!Skipd
May 28May 28 Moderator Right-click Start and select Event Viewer. Look at the Error entries. That’s a good place to start.I usually copy and paste error descriptions into Google for an explanation.BSODs are sometimes hardware related. Google “BSOD reasons” and go through the recommendations. Finally, edit Prepar3d.cfg and remove the startup scenario. Save and exit. Start P3D and it will keep your preferences but start with default aircraft and airport. That may help. Ray (Cheshire, England). May 28May 28 Author Ray...no joy....I checked the time logging on to P3d StartUp against the "Event Times" Got about 15-20 entries in Windows System.Tried reading the description of each....but I'm not techie enough to understand the explanations. In the P3d,cfg....I deleted the STARTUP section including all entries below startup.....I think there were 8-9 entries. Also went ahead and uninstalled May 17 and 18 Win Updates.Restarted P3d with default B58 at my default aifield KEZF.....my RTX 3090 was screaming and the BSOD.I have tried several other downloaded games with no problems....only P3Dv5.4Skipd
May 28May 28 Author Ray....sudden unexpected change....I deleted the P3d.cfg file and the Shaders file ....the sim fired up with NO overload to my 3090.My PSU is a Corsair 750w.... which has run P3d faithfully ever since I upgraded to the 3090 a year ago.Should I upgrade to a 1000w for safety. Thanks for all your help and advice.Skipd
May 28May 28 Moderator @skip d , it sounds like a corruption of graphics files in P3D. Well done on finding the cause.Regarding the PSU hold fire for now and use monitoring software for the GPU. A quick search should identify something suitable. Watch the temperature and load. If you get another BSOD consider a more powerful PSU but I think you’ll be fine with a 750. Ray (Cheshire, England).
