I agree.There was a time when I was convinced that Vista was a step backwards. This was partly due to all the negative comments I kept hearing about Vista (Much of this negativity was coming from people who really didn't know what they were talking about). I'm loving Vista now after using it for awhile and giving it a chance. For me, XP = Boring Ugly and Vista = A Way Cool Computing Experience.
