MSFS 2024 Weather reporting

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I would very much appreciate any help regarding how the in sim weather is affected when adjusting the time of day in MSFS 2024 and Simbrief. I have been using MSFS 2024 for approximately 5 months and have just recently begun flying in Europe (which I absolutely love), flying exclusively the Fenix A320. Because of the time difference (I am on the US west coast), I have been pushing back 4-6 hours the MSFS 2024 and Simbrief time of day in order to fly during European daylight hours. When doing so, I have at times been receiving conflicting weather reporting for the departure and arrival airports between MSFS 2024 ATIS, the Fenix EFB weather (METAR), and the MSFS 2024 EFB METAR. Therefore, a couple of questions if I may -

1) Does Simbrief utilize historical weather when generating your flight plan if you push back the departure time from the current UTC time?

2) Does MSFS 2024 utilize historical weather if you push back the sim time from the current UTC time?

The biggest issue the above creates is planning for the approach and landing at the arrival airport. Different winds, altimeter settings, temperatures, etc. (sometimes significantly different) between ATIS, the Fenix EFB METAR and the MSFS 2024 EFB METAR make confirming the proper STAR and arrival runway a bit confusing. I haven't yet been able to determine which, if any, of the aforementioned weather sources can be relied upon for the displayed in sim weather.

Thank you very much.

Yes, but only up to 24 hours from the current time.

You specifically have to use the slider in the Live weather tab to change time. If you use the slider in the custom weather tab it will keep using current weather.

You have to tell the Fenix EFB to use the sim weather.

Which ATIS are you referring to?
