"Der Gabelschwanz Teufel"

The Lockheed P-38 Lightning's most famous nickname was the "Fork-Tailed Devil" (German: Der Gabelschwanz-Teufel). This was given to the twin-engine aircraft by the Luftwaffe during World War II, owing to its distinct twin-boom silhouette and the formidable firepower it unleashed in combat.

On todays P38 flight we will be visiting mostly military bases with a few domestic stops. We will leave from San Diego KNZY and end up at KLSV in Las Vegas.

The flight is 610 miles with 9 stops.
