To Brian G. and Mikko -- Skymaster?

Featured Replies

Saw a great Skymaster in the Screenshots forum that you two have been given credit for. One of these is sorely missing for 2k2. Yours is a beaut..! Any chance you'll release it?http://ftp.avsim.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboa...rum=DCForumID47

not sure... maybe when we both get our respective payware projects done. I need to get some flight dynamics done on em too. Plus the current models do not have a VC so one will have to be added.Brian

Well, to be honest my feeling is that this bird will never see real daylight as it is now. There is way too much on it to be improved to reach the current quality level of add-ons. But since the C337 is my favourite twin on side of C425 Conquest I, it is more that likely that I will make (Maybe a joint effort with Brian :-)) a whole new version of it. Actually Ian Grant has a access to take as much photos of C337 as we ever need so you never know if this project comes alive sooner that we can even imagine :)Mikko http://www.flightsimnetwork.com/mmniemi/shots/banger.gif

I admire both of you for your honest answers. With only one screenshot to go by, I still have to say it is far better than any Skymaster I've seen. I do have to admit I've taken up the challenge that you offered many months back--that of designing my own a/c. What I've learned, is that my first release may be in time for FS2006.... More seriously, I am amazed that both you and Brian and many others can keep involved in as many projects as you are. I am having trouble deciding just where to get started. I would love to get to some point where I could offer just one freeware creation as thanks for all the freeware and payware creations people have sweated over through the years. But I understand concern for quality. It'd be a long time before I can get something out there, especially in my main area of interest--ultralight and microlight aircraft. But I have found I can take existing models among the many .fsc files out there (I find FSDS 2 a bit easier to start with), and at least understand what was done and why. I'm trying to choose a skill each week, such as prop animation, and learn the skill so that when I do come up with a "first project", I have all the tools I need. I owe both of you thanks for inspiring me to try....Regards,John

Any News or Update on your Maule Mikko?

I would certainly be looking forward to a C337-freeware OR payware! With most GA twins, your view is always obstructed by their engines when looking sideways from the 'pit-this is one twin that circumvents that!

Hi Mikko,Would the same answer be true for your PA31-350? It's another GA twin I'd like to see in FS2002..boneshttp://fsaviation.net

>Any News or Update on your Maule Mikko? IT's getting there slowly but surely. Like always, these projects are never so straight forward. We were getting good progress fast when suddenly everything changed. One of out team members ran into personal life problems. We have to understand his reasons and let the time heal the wounds... But the Maule will be there definately!!Ps. I got some very important contact to a real life Maule owner, who can provide us with A LOT of photos. That will give us a lot of new material to improve the model itself. And since his plane is tri-cyckle version, against our earlier decision, we have now decided to make the Tri-cycle version as well. So, basically it will now be a complete Maule package with all the possible versions :)Mikko http://www.flightsimnetwork.com/mmniemi/shots/banger.gif

>Hi Mikko, >>Would the same answer be true for your PA31-350? It's >another GA twin I'd like to see in FS2002.. Well, it is more than likely that the Chieftain will never get upgraded by me. Too many things to do anyway and starting to upgrade the Chieftain wouldn't make things easier. I would basically have to rebuilt the whole thing. There is not many re-useable parts on the old model...Mikko http://www.flightsimnetwork.com/mmniemi/shots/banger.gif
