Sunday at 08:44 AM4 days Author Commercial Member Because MSFS does not provide Tower location data for airports, Spotty26 automatically creates a virtual Tower/Spotter camera at the airport nearest to the selected aircraft.By default, Spotty26 uses the longest suitable runway. Runway selection also takes the current wind direction and wind speed into account, helping to identify and favor the active runway whenever possible. If the aircraft is established on final approach, Spotty26 analyzes the aircraft’s heading, altitude, speed, descent, and prevailing wind conditions to determine the runway the aircraft is most likely approaching.Once the runway has been selected, Spotty26 automatically calculates the Tower/Spotter camera position based on the runway direction and the following user-adjustable settings:TowerHeight – Height of the Tower/Spotter cameraDistanceFromRunway – Distance from the runway centerlineDistanceFromRunwayStart – Position along the runwayTowerFov – Tower/Spotter camera field of viewAll these values can be adjusted by the user to customize the automatic Tower/Spotter view.Users can also manually position and save Tower/Spotter camera locations whenever a specific viewing position is preferred.
