Auto Pilot Issues in MSFS 2024

Featured Replies

I am new to MSFS 2024 and jut setting it up. So I apologize if this is something of a dumb question. I had everything set up and tried the Auto Pilot for the first time. It worked great!!!! I made a couple of more bindings for my HOTAS 5. The next time I went in I could not "turn on" the AP nor could I make any adjustments to the knobs (Heading, Speed or Altitude). I decided that I must have mess up the bindings and decided to reset them to default. That was a mistake!!! Anyway I was able to get almost everything back together and was able to turn on the AP and make adjustments to the settings. However, it seems that the plane (CJ4) ignores the setting and I cannot figure out what I am missing. It just ignores by altitude, course and speed settings. Can anyone give me a clue as to what I must be missing? Thanks for your help with is.

When asking for help in this or other forum, you are looking for specific actions you must take to accomplish your objective so your question must also be very specific. Currently it is not. List the steps that you executed, and for EACH STEP, specify what you were trying to accomplish in that step (e.g., turn-on the AP), how did you execute that step (e.g., clicked the AP button on the MCP) and what did you observe after executing that step (e.g., expecting the AP light to illuminate but it did not).

I have found that occasionally the autopilot is simply possessed for lack of better words and for me doing a restart of the sim usually corrects it. I have experienced this in both 2020&2034 and it is usually the pitch mode that acts up.
