  1. The only aircraft I have installed to V6 is the Majestic Dash 8 as it has a V6 installer. i would like to have a few high end aircraft such as PMDG installed to V6 but I actually know next to nothing about doing the installs. That said i will have a look at the video, thanks.
  2. I'm retired now after flying for 40 years. Even if the radar available in MSFS is kind of mickey mouse i still like it. I remember when the radars in the rw were pretty basic compared to what is around today but they had the h@@l beat out of having nothing. So I am good with what JF & black Square is offering and perhaps PMDG in their about to be released 777. Adds to the immersion for me.
  3. Been holding off buying this but the latest release looks good plus a discount doesn't hurt. Does it have Weather radar (such as it is in MSFS)?
  4. May be a speed restriction in the event window heat is U/S. Window is "stronger" with heat. I flew the HS748 about 25 years ago and seem to remember something along these lines.
  5. Actually for P3dV6 Canada is very well represented with addon airports from coast to coast (from SimAddOns) and into the arctic. Couple this with the photo type scenery from FC Scenery and weather from ASN and it is a very good sim.
  6. pmplayer: I agree just how nice the JF aircraft, 146 & F28 are to fly. First JF aircraft I have bought in years and am very pleased with them. Also pleased with the support from JF when I have questions.
  7. When you operate a lot in that environment you get to know what the aircraft can do. Plus i spent +/- 1000 hours in the right seat with some great teachers so when i made capt I had a decent foundation.....plus I got another 100 +/- hours of good line indoc. Crosswind limits in flight manuals are usually mentioned as "demonstrated crosswind". Should be mentioned that the company had an excellent safety record. You pick and choose your days with doing this.
  8. In the rw sometimes you may wish to be off the centerline. Example a slippery runway(ice, packed snow, lots of standing water) in a strong crosswind it can be advantageous to be off the centerline into the wind. Smaller communities in the north or the arctic for example have only one runway and no shortage of wind. North of the tree line in relatively flat terrain the wind can be strong but at least somewhat steady. One of my last trips north flying a SF340 the wind was 50' to the right gusting to 48 knots onto a 6000' runway. Moving a little off centerline into the wind gave some wiggle room. Definitely a solid arrival but no passenger complaints.
  9. Is uninstall required for the previous version?
  10. I have V6. I have SimAddOns Canadian airports from coast to coast including the high arctic, ASN wx, FC Scenery for several provinces and the majestic Dash 8. it imho is very good. Wish there were more add-on aircraft. Waiting patiently for Xtremes Lear Jets. Pleased with it.
  11. In the later 1980s i flew 4500+ tours over Niagara Falls back when i was still flying rotary. Always enjoyed flying tourists as they were always happy campers. Interestingly it was surprising just for so many it was their first time ever experiencing flight, either fixed or rotary wing.
  12. SimAddOns has CYYJ. It's very good. I have been a customer of theirs for a long time. They have coast to coast and into the high arctic for Canada. I'm very pleased with SimAddOns airports.
  13. Last year I upgraded to the 7800x3d & the 7900xt 20 gig video card. Previously it was the I9-9900k & 2080 8 gig. What a nice improvement.
  14. I love the long days. Spent a lot of time in the arctic and loved watching the sun going around in a circle.
  15. Biggest thing for safety on a bike is making yourself a visible as possible and developing a robust situational awareness. After a friend was killed about 15 years ago riding his Goldwing when someone pulled out I eventually went to high viz gear, upgraded lighting to LEDs, keep visors and windscreens extremely clean and do my best to anticipate word not allowed drivers. Plus I seldom ride at night anymore. Here in Manitoba in the summer it is still light approaching as late as 10:30 PM. Never enjoyed playing Dodge the Deer. Been riding since I was a teenager now 71 this year and ride an Indian Challenger. As an interesting comparative note i flew rotary wing in the real world from the 1970s to the 1990s before going fixed wing and I knew (or had met briefly) many more people killed flying rotary ( mainly civilian ops) than riding motorcycles. Also, then, there was much less traffic and people knew how to drive. Still love to ride.
  16. Would someone provide a link to this? many thanks.
  17. I have an Indian Challenger and my wife has an Indian Scout. I turn 71 this spring and she 68. It's great to have a spouse who rides too. I sold a Honda CB750 in 1976 to pay for completing my pilot licenses and didn't start riding again till 2003. Hung up the headset for the last time in 2016 and now continue to get get my jollies on the bike.
  18. Richard, Check out the latest issue of Motorcycle Sport & Liesure. There is a review of the Enfield 450 cc. Throttle by wire etc. Test has them as high as 13,000 above sea level. Really an impressive bike.
  19. I ride an Indian Challenger. There is now a 450cc version of the Enfield. Worth having a look at. Modernized in a good way.
  20. Is there a Traffic add-on for V6?
  21. I find the G1000 in the various sims on the whole really good. It is just a matter using it and getting familiar with it. Towards the end of my rw flying career I had to transition to the G1000 and when you're in your late 50s it takes a little to get your head wrapped around all the things it can do (I loved having XM radio in the cockpit). I've been a simmer since the 1980s. When the time to do the rw change in my mind to the 21st century, kicking and screaming, I had the Flight1 beech200 and spent considerable time flying it in my geographic area as I was going to have to do a check ride to prove competence and get signed off. The flight1 G1000 was good enough that when i got in the airplane to train it was much easier. Anyway, to shorten this up really it is just about spending time and getting used to it. i got through the training and check ride okay but wasn't really in love with it initially....but 6 months later it was my best friend. It may be yours too down the road. Just spend time with it.
  22. How do I ensure AS is providing the wx for my XP12 and not XP downloading its real wx? Thanks.
  23. Greetings Ryan, Is there a map available somewhere with these airports shown. I am not familiar with most of them. Thanks for your time. Dave
