Good Morning All,

Looking for some help understanding the export and dealing with my validation errors. I have three GloballArt sceneries (CYVR,CYYZ,CYUL) along with TaiModels CYWG which all have statics that are driving me crazy. I have been able to delete the objects in WED no problem but keep getting errors that is preventing export of the edited apt file.

I have read the manual and just want to be sure I am doing something right instead of really buggering up the scenery.

The errors include Ortho resource markings cannot be found, taxi edges not connected, static cones objects, short taxi segments....Is there a way to still export and get a new apt file regardless of the "errors"

@ywg256 Are you using latest wed it has reduced the length of the taxi path segments error.

If the objects are embedded in the airport,WED and find them it works from a library.

A few screen shots would go a long way. Pity cant add pictures on this forum.

Thx for the tip. You would be correct that I need to update to latest version. I will try that and report back.

Ok, I opened up the new version to edit CYWG by TaiModels. The static aircraft are not showing within WED but it still has a lot of errors including Facade Height not close to actual supported height, Taxiway has duplicate vertices, draped polygon has duplicate vertices....I have a significant amount of of the Facade Height error.

Facade heights are fixed, it draws them at the closest height, if you find the facade in the left pane it will show you what the heights are and just select them and correct them in the right pane. but id watch in 3d view to make sure you go the right way, If i remember it tells you in the error what the closest height is. Taxiways vertices will show if you click zoom to error, just delete one, you have much learning to do, should start at small airport

Hi Sean,

Although what you attempt sounds simple, you have already found out that there is more to WED airport editing than meets the eye at first glance.

Unless you are willing to invest a few weeks with a few hours every day in watching tutorial videos, browsing forums (not this one) and getting acquainted with the intricacies of the X-Plane scenery system...just dealing with the static aircraft would be a much better choice.

You can try, and some kind soul will always answer, but going back and forth in this forum is not an effective way to learn using WED.
