Hi all:I've been trying to use older FS and CFS2 ship models as AI in FS9 and have encountered a strange phenomenon.Importing the CFS2 models works fine when supplying them with an appropriate .cfg/.air pair. I can load the ship and pilot it around in the FS9 world. However, when setting it up as AI it (partially) vanishes from view! Trying to spot the ship from an aircraft, it's invisible while in cockpit/virtual cockpit mode (though the effects are visible!) but visible in external views such as spot and tower. (BTW, the same AI ships work well in FS2002).Any ideas what might cause this and how to tweak it (the model?) to adress the problem. The only obvious difference (when using the aircraft editor in AFCAD2) is that the invisible models have "aircraft radius" fixed at "na"; dunno if that's the cause though.Cheers, Holger

Previous .mdl files do not work well (if at all) in FS9. In most cases, this is evidenced by the lack of landing gear. The internal structure of the .mdl (model) file has significantly changed; so much so that many (most?) pre-FS9 a/c cannot be used.

Hi:Bill, thanks for the response. I'm not surprised by the issues with the changes in the model file but what I'm scratching my head about is why the model would show up in one view but not the other. That's why I think/hope there might be a way to get it to show up in cockpit view as well.Any ideas appreciated!Cheers, Holger
