Hi All,I present you my Skyvan model, coming on very well, not really a lot left to do now. This is my first FS model, and has been a struggle, but I have had some good help along the way.The Skyvan is supposedly the ugliest plane ever, but I think its a great little plane.Hope you like her, it certainly has been a labour of love :-lolDan.http://www.flightsin.com/skyvan1.jpghttp://www.flightsin.com/skyvan2.jpghttp://www.flightsin.com/skyvan3.jpghttp://www.flightsin.com/skyvan4.jpg

Hey Dan, you are right....the ugliest plane ever! LOL looks good, very nice for a first design, bravo, got a VC? What program you use? Here is an old pic of my first aircraft (1 month into it), still quite a ways to go, thinking of importing it into Gmax, now that I have a handle on it and I find texturing much more sensible in Gmax also and that has proved to be a pain.http://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/ascomplete.jpgLooking forward to your finished deal!Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/PBTMCa.jpgCalVirAir International VACalVirAir International

Make sure you go over your smoothing groups to make sure you have nice sharp edges on your trailing edges and props. Other that, looking good so far. Took me about 6 months to really get comfortable with FSDS2.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/92489.jpg

Hi,What do you mean by "go over the smoothing groups" ?.Don't think I will ever be comfortable with FSDS ;)CheersDan.

smoothing groups are something hard to explain..lol :)anyways.. Here's how i think it can be explained..Try making yourself a simple airfoil shape.. with the same smoothing group.notice the at the trailing edge the surface would be dark..now try assigning the top and bottom polygon each a different smoothing group.

Cheers, I think I have a handle on it now ;)Dan.
