October 24, 200421 yr I see some posts for making VC gauges brighter but I do not see anything on making the background brighter. What I really want is to NOT have the position of the Sun determine the brightness of the VC panel. Rather to have the VC panel fully illuminated as if it was in direct sunlight all the time???????Dick Boley @KLBE regards, Dick near Pittsburgh, USA
October 24, 200421 yr Author Moderator The only solution I've found is to intall an .fx "light" in the virtual cockpit, and turn it on/off with either a custom switch, or assign the light to the Beacon electrial circuit.This is done via the aircraft.cfg file. Note particularly, the light.4 and light.5 entries. The number immediately following the = is the electrical circuit that controls the "light":[LIGHTS]//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing 6=taxi, 7=recognition, 8=wing, 9=logo 10=cabinlight.0=3, 1.5, -23.6, 1.2, fx_navredlight.1=3, 1.5, 23.6, 1.2, fx_navgrelight.2=3, -21.8, 0.00, 9.81, fx_navwhi.fxlight.3=1, -17.8, 0.00, 10.5, fx_beaconlight.4=10, 11.50, 0.30, 2.00, esbj400_panelflood.fxlight.5=10, 11.50, -0.30, 2.00, esbj400_panelflood.fxlight.6=2, 1.3, -23.6, 1.2, fx_strobelight.7=2, 1.3, 23.6, 1.2, fx_strobelight.8=8, 15.0, -17.8, 8.20, esbj400_icelight //rightwing icelightlight.9=8, 15.0, 17.8, 8.20, esbj400_icelight //leftwing icelightlight.10=7, -17.8, 0.00, 10.5, fx_beacon //comes on with taxi lightsThe esbj400_panelflood.fx file is simply a slightly modified copy of the stock fx_vclighth.fx file from the Effects folder of FS9.
