June 22, 200718 yr Hello AllCan anyone tell me how to open and read a .mdl extension? I trying to get a panel from one aircraft from fs2004 to show it's panel in fsx.The .mdl file I'm refering to is in the model folder for the specific a/c.What I'm trying to get done is to use the panel from the Aegean Sea Hawk to work in the hovercontrol jayhawk. I'm not a programer or anything in that area. I just love flying that jayhawk. I've asked hovercontrol but got no response. Fsx will allow me to fly the thing, but alas, no panel to speak of. Thanks in advance for any help.Ernest
June 22, 200718 yr The short answer is you can't. .mdl files are compiled files so unless you have access to the developer's source code you can't make any changes. Gerry Howard
June 22, 200718 yr A valiant effort to go through the mystery MDL format is being made by the gang as FsDeveloper... Here's a link.http://www.fsdeveloper.com/wiki/index.php?...=FsX_MDL_formatAlong the same lines, boy would it be nice to have the .AIR format :)
