Auto Break RTO switch
I hope this is in the right place. I recall seeing (not sure if it was Avsim) of a switch/gauge for the RTO switch in the vc cockpit for the default 737 that will allow you to see the switch move when you increase/decrease the setting. Not crazy about having to switch to the 2d panel to confirm that it did. Does anyone recall seeing it or have it, and if so, please let me know...Thanks......I have the Project Opensky Boeing 737-800w Tuifly (Bären Marke-cs) for Microsoft Flight Simulator X that does just that. FSX Delux Vs FSX Gold
What I was trying to convey was when I was doing a beta test on a mission, I replied to the mission author that the ILS freq that was given in the mission was not matching whatmy FSX showed. Yes, my map and GPS will give ILS freqs and will show runways for a given airport. The difference that I and the mission author discovered was that he usingFSX Gold version vrs my version (the first issued FSX) using map/GPS view showing no ILS freq for runway 9L. I checked with Skyvector.com and yeap...it's got an ILS OF 111.75 and heading of 093 degrees. We both concluded that because FSX Gold was the newer version, perhaps Microsoft put in some "upgrades" for lack of a better word and that is why the difference.Check it out....bring up O'Hare and look for the ILS freq for 9L using the GPS function and the map view. It's not a big deal really. Just something that came up during a beta test. Thanks for the reply.

- FSX Delux Vs FSX Gold
As most should already know....First there was FSX DeluxThen came AccelatrationThen came FSX GOLDI got FSX Delux when it first came out and then got accelatration when it came out. I have it installed on a Vista Home Basic 64bit os.I've recently discovered that there is a differents in the airports data base in FSX w/accel vrs whats in FSX GOLD.I found this out with O'Hare.....in short, the gold version shows ILS freqs and headings and runways that the orignal FSX does not.So my question is this :( Should I decide to un-install my current version of FSX and making sure to wipe every trace of it from my system.....installl the gold version.....can I import the rewards bin logbook bin and the reward rwd files into it, thereby keeping all that I've earn and all the hours/flights etc that I've made to date?Any thoughts on this or has anybody do this, please let me know.Oh yes...one other question....I've heard from a few that FSX is not truly compatable with a 64bit os.Does anyone have any thoughts about this or something concret, please let me know.I can tell you for sure....I built my puter a few years back just to run FSX and it works great.Just trying to confirm what I've heard from a few folks. Thanks againThanks- Re: X52Pro flight controller w/rudders
HiI've had my X52Pro/rudders for a few years now and I enjoy using it.Up until a few days ago, I was able to turn the nose wheel on most aircraft using just the joy stick. I've lost that alibity for some unknown reason. Rudders work fine, but I did enjoy using the joy stick more because to me it made for better turning. For anybody who has the X52Pro w/rudders and has had this issue or who knows what may have caused it, please let me know.If it is something within the FSX config file, please pass that on. Also in regards the multifuntion display...I've lost that as well unless I run the SaiFlightSimX.exe and the SimConnect.msi after starting FSX. Used to be, it was there when after I started FSX.My system is Vista 64bit and the most current drivers that I know of for the X52Pro are already installed.I did do a un-install and re-install already and have donethe calibration. Thanks to all who read this.- Canopy Reflections in the VC
HII know that the answer to this exsist somewhere in the past.I had it on an older install of FSX but have since lost it when I put in a new os and re-installed FSX.What I would like to do is to remove the reflection on the canopy glass in the vc mode. It is really a pain while flying at night.RegardsErnest- fatal error
HiI did a fsx repair to try and correct some odd behavior (no a/c lights and smoke showing as black squares). No when I start fsx, I get a " fatal error " right at startup with no further msg's saying what the error/cause might be.Any thoughts on the matter would be helpful.RegardsErnest- Aerosoft Lear Mission
Hi AllI'm flying the Aerosoft Lear Jet Mission.Once I get the message to divert from Linate to Bergamo and to expect vectors for rwy 28, I get another message saying to fly heading 284 and tune to 108.70, which I do. And then down to 6000 ft.The Airport ID is ORIO and I fly along waiting for additional instructions and hit a mountain on the heading I was given.Did I miss something here?Am I not supposed to land at Bergamo like the co-pilot said?I make the switch from gps to nav as instructed but keep flying the heading of 284. I confess that the Lear is not a plane I fly alot. Thanks for reading this and for any help with this mision.RegardsErnest- Lonesome Lake Cargo

Thank you all for your replies and valuable imput.Since practice makes perfect, I'll just keep with the practice.Thank youErnest- Lonesome Lake Cargo
Has anybody completed this mission?I get to the lake with no problems and plop down in the water like a duck, unload, take on dummy with broken leg. Taxi to far end of lake to give me longest takeoff run and crash each time. There is just not enought lenght to take off in. By the time I get to other end of lake, I've only got around 60 knots IAS showing. I've tryed flaps/no flaps.Full rich/lean. Max rpm's and 100 per cent power and still put more planes into the trees than Charley Brown and his kites. Mission uses the default De Hav Beaver and lake is around 2700 ft in the White Mts of NH.RegardsErnest- Aircraft Airspeed
If I understand this correctly, the GPS shows what the ground speed is in relation to IAS? If that is correct, when I use shift+Z and get that nice red readout along the top left of my monitor, is that also showing what the groud speed is? I'm just trying to make sure that when my aircraft's IAS is showing one speed and gps/shift+Z is showing something else while on final, I don't want to think I'm going to slow or too fast for landing. Or maybe I should just forget about using shift+Z altogether as it may not be of any value.RegardsErnest- Aircraft Airspeed
Thank you for both replies.I will change the setting and see what happens. Also, is it possible the fsx config file could be corrupted, and if so, would deleting it and allowing it to re-load as it were be any use?RegardsErnest- Aircraft Airspeed
Hi.I was wondering if anybody else has noticed this. When I'm flying with any aircraft, the airspeed that shows on the airspeed indicator differs from what is shown when I use shift+z. The difference can be anywhere from 20 knots to higher depending on what aircraft I fly.I keep the setting on show true airspeed. Is this normal? If not, is there a correction which will allow both (shift+z/airspeed indicator) to give the same airspeed.Another example is when I'm flying the 737-800 above 30 thousand feet, in order to keep 330 knots, I have to set airspeed above 400 knts on the autopilot. Thanks for reading this.RegardsErnest- Re: FSX Video Record Function
Thanks for your reply. After I did the post, I found more info and it does seem that everybody like Fraps. Thanks againErnest- Re: FSX Video Record Function
I've just installed a TrackIR and I was using the video record function within FSX just to see what it look like. My question is this.Is there a way to change the default location of the video to record onto a different hard drive? I use a RAID 1 setup with the os on "c" and FSX on "d". I would like to have the video record to "d".Thanks for reading this.RegardsErnest- Track IR

HelloI'm using FSX on Windows Vista Home Basic 64bit. I would like to try my hand at online flying. What do I need and where do I go?RegardsErnest- Slingload Tutorial
It is a learned skill. I can only imagine what a real helo would be like. Now to save those stupid kayakere in Key West.RegardsErnest- Slingload Tutorial
Finished the mission on my second attempt.Go slow and stay low. More so with the hummer.I did find out one thing that the co-pilot nor the mission briefing talked about. When you use the side hoist, you have 300 ft of line. You can let out as much line as you want by hitting the key strokes a second time to stop the line play out. Then just do a slow hover over the object in the water or where ever it is and it will attached.I found out the first time I tryed this mission that letting out all the hoist line makes the dude jerk around like a fish and slings him off to his death. I used about 60 ft of cable and reeled him in nice and easy the second time.I also found out that if you do use all the cable, dude might grab onto the sling hoist below the chopper. Anyway, hope it helps.RegardsErnest- Hill AB Fire Crew EXtraction
