Hi Chris, Whats I am talking about the blocky is they are using the old volumetric bocky clouds, if you look at some shot at microwing, you will see some bloky pixel when you are near them, I think they are using this way. But there is some positif thing, The sky color and the LIGHT (t&l) I my opinion is the BIGGEST improvement for now, the sky color DRAMATICLY improve all clouds contrast even if the cloud are lack of definition, the (t&l) again DRAMATICLY improve the clouds colors a dawn, day, dusk, night, this is a big news, the clouds appears visible at night dawn, in fs2002 sometime they look BLACK clouds , unrealistic, I don't know why the sky color and the (t&l) for the clouds light have not improved in fs2k2, in FACT, this are very easy to do, in ALPHA cfs3 have already BLOW AWAY the sky color of fs2002, now you have the proof thats some things is going wrong in the management of fs. at the bottom, right"http://www.microwings.com/ti/acs/images/5P_55a_At_noon.jpg"I remember a question from an simmer for microwings to fs team at fanstock:Will the color of the sky (the blue) get darker as you climb in altitude?"Fs Team : Nope. There are no plans to model what it looks like as you approach space! (grin) (OPSS fs2002 is released now, you have change the night colors to black, why not the blue sky ? this take a min!!!!) In the fs2k2 beta 2 , the night and the cloud at night was fantastic!!!IMHO the compability 3rd party is a total waist of time, how many time in the beta stage they works in this? I don't even touch fs2000 files, and each years anyways we have to redone the files, replace this time to the weather, taxi lights are simply a bmp etc basic thing make a huge difference, the las vegas volcano ,niagara fall scnery, latest autogen bmp, was not in the final relased because it was already pack, they show the video with the volaco this was the final, out of time!! they released them in the sdk.ThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFshttp://fsw.simflight.com/fsw.jpg

Hey Dan, if Microsoft did that, it would be a miracle! MS has never provided file formats, even the older BGL formats and op codes that are common today were hacked by folks years ago. It's too bad really, I guess they figure they can make more money by keeping that information to themselves. But I find it interesting that they don't come down on folks who have broken the file structures and made add-ons from it. For some good news, I just learned about spokes, so my wheel is coming along nicely ;-)Leland Steffensen>I do NOT want to re-invent the weel either. So yes we need >an sdk >with full doucumentation of file formats etc so we can DO >something >rather than re-invent the above weel. >>>> Dan

Michel, I hope we don't have to wait much longer - and that it delivers the goods. I feel as if I've been waiting for this all my life! Best regards, Chris

Hi Leland it's just that I am used to woking with the likes of Tri and the people at Id software both of them are very open with things like file formats etc. So I have a problem with everything here in the MS world being a big secret. What I don't understand is why for Flight sim they do not want to give full support when for most of their products they give you all the tools one needs to do most anything. I would not want to guess what the total sales of FS has been over the years but it must be one very large number!.
