August 10, 200223 yr Hey,I'm new to scenery design in FS2k2 (I did some designing for FS98, loong ago...) and I was just wondering what BGLC is. I only know there's a tool called BGLC in the effect SDK but is that what you mean?Thanks,http://flightsimmers.net/airport/etti/signature_pro.jpg
August 10, 200223 yr BGLC (BGLCompiler) is the scenery compiler used by Microsoft vice SCASM. It compiles the scenery source code into the *.bgl file format. Bill Sieffert
August 10, 200223 yr Hi badderjet. The newest BGLC is in the effects SDK. It is an enhancement of Microsoft's MASM assembly language compiler, geared towards flight simulator. The documentation is actually in the FS2000 Scenery SDK. The newer TMF techniques don't require much BGLC coding knowledge... mostly cut and paste of the code, and learning to place the flattens, decals, etc... within a grid defined by LOD8 spans ( sub-divided by LOD13 spans ). 'georgio' has created a TMF calculator for fsregen that takes the pain out of much of the placing. He has also been working to include a Gmax to BGL interface in fsregen, which may be the way of the future for TMF production.
August 10, 200223 yr Author Oh well... Thanks! But now I have two more questions: What's TMF and what's MASM? ;-) Just being interested...Thanks againhttp://flightsimmers.net/airport/etti/signature_pro.jpg
