Problem adding missing navaids.

Featured Replies

I'm using FS Scenery Creator v1.5.5 to add a missing navaid. It works fine as long as I don't check the box "List in Facility Database." When I do check the box, I get the following error: -> NameEntry() 6: container no. 3 not foundThe .bgl files compile anyway. The navaid works, and shows up on the map, but I get the message "Building database for new scenery files" every time I start FS. If I delete the afd file it goes away. How can I get around this, I want the navaid to show up on the map?

I think the error means that you haven't setup your project properly. In the project preferences you can set the AFD Area, Region, etc and I guess those are empty know. And it is normal that FS rebuilds its database when a new AFD file is added. So every time when you compile the AFD file, FS will have to rebuild.Arno

If the world should blow itself up, the last audible voice would be that of an expert saying it can't be done.

In airport setup of directories (folders), there is a slot for AFDFiles. I don't have FSSC loaded so don't know if there is a separate setup slot for AFDFiles. What it sounds like is FSSC is looking for a folder and can't find it. Try opening your preferences (setup) page and see if a separate slot for AFDFiles is available. If so, browse (or Type) your fs2002 AFDFiles location in the slot.

Nope, FSSC has no option for the AFD path or so. But as I described above I think the setup of the AFD region etc is not correct (this is in the preferences of the scenery project in FSSC).Arno

I have already filed out all fields under Edit/Scenery Properties, on all tabs. Any other ideas?

I know it's normal when something new is added, but it is doing it every time I start FS. It is the AFD file doing it, if I remove it and leave the scenery bgl file it quits doing it.

It should only do it once. But when you recompile the scenery in FSSC a new version of the BGL will be there and FS will do it again.Arno

Can you maybe post more of the SCASM code of the AFD then? That should help in finding the problem.Arno

Here is the scasm code it is generating:

; ************************************************************; Scenery compiled by FS Scenery Creator 1.5.5 by Derek Leung; Scenery compiled on 1/14/2003 2:08:20 PM; Scenery created by Jim Chaney; ************************************************************Set( FSVERS 0x800 )AI_Border( N32:14:46.0406 N32:14:36.1594 W091:01:26.8585 W091:01:38.5415 )Header( 1 N32:14:46.0406 N32:14:36.1594 W091:01:26.8585 W091:01:38.5415 )LatRange( N32:14:36.1594 N32:14:46.0406 )Container( NDB 1 ) Navaid( N32:14:41.1000 W091:01:32.7000 22.87 0 0.3440 NDB HIGHALT 0 TV )EndCNameList( 409 ) NameEntry( REGION 0 "North America" ) NameEntry( COUNTRY 0 "United States" ) NameEntry( STATE 0 "Louisiana" )	NameEntry( NDB 1 "SAVRY" ) NameEntry( CITY 0 "Mound" )	NameEntry( AIRPORT 3 "SAVRY NDB" )EndNL

All I'm putting down is an NDB and an antenna object. Everything works except it causes FS to rebuild the scenery db every time I restart FS.

Here is one I made with Airport.
