Grand Teton NP G2k4 Project Gradually Getting There!

Featured Replies

My first G2k4 project (Grand Teton using Holger's satellite image) is gradually getting there. It's a slow process but I think I'm starting to get the hang of it! I've also used Holger's tutorial to amend some of the default flattens. Here are two pics I've taken of how it looks so far. I've done most of the lakes, but I still need to add rivers and roads. I also think I'll amend some of the shores to be less jagged in areas. One of the pics shows the outline of an island in a lake. I have amother island in the same lake and as far as I know both have the same properties. However one shows but the other doesn't. I'll keep looking into that. http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/78855.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/78856.jpg

Hi Victor, that looks VERY nice; there'll be lots of people thankful for the changes to the Tetons! The missing land of the island and along the far shoreline in your first picture is due to landclass in the default worldlc.bgl file declared as water. You have to create your own landclass file (with the 'LC' function) and cover the island and lakeshore area with appropriate classes. Make sure that you extend your landclass coverage at least one grid section into water or the land will not show up. Since you've decided to edit the default scenery *bgl files you're also aware of the problems with it. In other words, you need to get in contact with the Yellowstone area designer so that your files will be compatible. I'll PM you his name.Good job!Cheers, Holger

Well after having a weeks holiday, I'm almost ready to carry on with my Teton's project. Hopefully it won't be too long before I can get it finished! :D :-)
