Ground polygons and AFCAD/SGX

Featured Replies

I posted this question in the AFW forum but wanted to run it here as well.I have come to the conclusion that if you set up a photoreal tile in SCASM, you cannot then place on top either an XML taxiway through SGX or an AFCAD created taxiway. If anyone can achieve this then let me know. AFW is the only solution. If this is the conclusion then what would be the best way to place PR tiles and then place SGX or AFCAD taxiways on top? Thanks Shez

Hi Shez,That is correct. The AFD scenery (AFCAD, SceneGenX) is always drawn before the section 9 3D objects (AFW code is in that section as well). Therefore a photo tile placed with these old commands will always cover your airport made with AFCAD.The only solution is to place the photo using the mesh scenery, as that is drawn before the XML scenery. Or else you need to draw the taxilines etc with the old tools as well.

Yes, Ground2k, Sbuilder or just resample. Any program that places them at the 4.8 meter resolution basically (that is the only drawback for you as well I guess).

Thanks Arno. Yes I need higher resolution than 4.8m. Tried previously to load SBuilder but it did not work. Looked promising.Shez

SBuilder also has the 4.8 resolution. If you need more it is impossible to use SceneGenX or AFCAD to make your taxilines. Unfortunately there is no way to fix that at the moment.
