Anyone notice this file?Here is a cut out of it:[Constellations];Big dipperConstellation.0 = 509,497,483,456,447,416,417,456[star Locations]Star.0=1, 0, 8, 23.265, 29, 5, 25.58, 2.06Star.1=2, 0, 9, 10.695, 59, 8, 59.18, 2.27Star.2=3, 0, 9, 24.659, -45, 44, 50.79, 3.88Star.3=4, 0, 10, 19.257, 46, 4, 20.21, 5.03Star.4=5, 0, 11, 34.437, -27, 47, 59.12, 5.42Notice though the only constellation is the big dipper?Anyone got any ideas on how this could be modified for other constellations?

Howdy,indeed it can and has been, quite a while ago. Go to http://www.b314clipper.com Under Support > Downloads you'll find a small file called "Real Stars V.1", which will nicely improve your night sky.Cheers, HolgerP.S.: Just noticed it's also in the file library here: real_stars.zip

Chris Wright has spent much time on this subject and has provided a program to add and modify the stars.dat. It also addresses this particular issue. Just ask him for a link in this forum.Best regards.Luis

Luis, thanks for the mention! AutoStar is a small utility that lets you display the brighter planets for any given date. You can also display the celestial circles, put an image among the stars and also display a comet. I've put the original release plus the two updates into a single zip, but note that it's functionally identical to the updates, so if you already have the updates there's no need to download this.
