Slicing images

What is a good command/tool to slice a large bmp into smaller 512x512 pixels (for example) squares? I tried the PSP7 image slicer but it appears to be more for web design. I also have Photoshop 7.0.ThanksShez

Doug Pouk also created a nifty little tool called "TGASplit" that can divide up power-of-two sized Targa files into multiple smaller files, and it's not limited to 256x256 for the output. It's freely available at http://www.pouksim.com/ I think, although it's been a while since I downloaded it.
