December 5, 200421 yr Hi,I just wanted to ask if someone knows how to copy objects in Gmax from one Gmax file to another. The Gmax Help is not very useful and I don't understand the information it contains about copying. Is there anyone who could write down a short step by step tutorial for that - if it is possible?ThanksSasa
December 5, 200421 yr Hi Sasa. You can select an object, or part, and use "Save Selected".To bring this object, or part, to a new project, first load your new project, then "Merge" the saved object or part to it. You'll then need to move and rotate then newly merged selection to where you want it.I've used this to copy attached effects to other projects, without having to remake them from scratch. The same can be done for platforms, attached library objects.... Copying and tranferring parts and attachments is a good idea.Generally speaking, you would not want to have more than one distinct object per MDL. It will cause problems with crash detection and autogen exclusion. The XML file can combine the separate object MDLs, and place them where you want them, to avoid those problems.Dick
