Rotating Beacon Question

Featured Replies

I use the following xml to place the default rotating beacon AND it's base at various locations - no problem.I would like to use the rotating beacon ONLY (no base) to place it atop a building but don't seem to be able to figure out what I need to alter to accomplish that.I feel sure it is something fairly simple and I just "can't see the trees for the forest" so would appreciate some help please.<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>Thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer.David "Opa" Marshall

Hello David,Adrian Woods wrote up a very clear explanation of this in the AttachTool documentation - you can find it in the GMax Gamepack SDK.In short, you must create a dummy box atop your building and then attach the desired effect to it.That default beacon base (tower) probably already has that geometry as part of its model, I assume, so that may explain the simple XML code for creating the combined object-effect.Best regards.Luis

Thank you very much -I shall take a look at the SDK you mention. In the meantime, if you have a "sample" of such a dummy box with the beacon attached I would like to see how you did it.Thanks once again.David "Opa" Marshall
